I went into a place I had never played before and sat down at a table which ended up being a few people all from the same family. I was having a very good run and they kept talking about how well it was going and saying that I must be very lucky. They were all happy as the table was doing very well too and not just me.
Then I get my favorite hand since I've started playing BJ. Not because I won the most money I have ever won on a single hand but for some reason got extreme satisfaction out of it. Count was astronomical so I had max bet out there. Well, I got two 9's and the dealer had an Ace up. I took insurance but it didn't hit. Now it came time to split the 9's and the table was all shouting don't do it, the dealer was telling me not to do it, even the bored dealer at the table right next to us with no customers was saying not to do it. I did it, and for my first card got a 2. I double down and get a 10 for 21 on the first hand. Second hand comes, I get another 2, double down and pull another 10 so I have 4 max bets out there with two hands of 21. Dealer flips over the hole card and its a 9 for a total of 20. Everyone goes nuts and can't believe that happened and the one guy calls me the luckiest SOB he's ever seen. Even though I know I could have just as easily (actually more likely) pulled two 10's to get two 19's losing 4 max bets and insurance money it just makes your day when things go your way sometimes.
