Over/Under 13 Bet

Know of any Casinos in the Midwest other than Mystic that offers the over/under 13 bet?

Also, if your at a table with over/under 13 betting, would you recommend a hi/lo count or would you recommend using one of Snyder's over/under 13 as more advantageous?

Extinct in U.S. as far as I know because it is so easily exploitable. Played it in Poland in the middle part of the last decade.

Don't use hi/lo. It's no good for O/U. Use Wong's Halves or a specialized count.

Wong has a special count in Professional Blackjack for O/U 13 called "The Crush Count." He also recommends Arnold Snyder's article on the O/U 13 bet. You can find that article on his website. You pretty much only need to attack the sidebet with a good count system for it. You can use a reduced spread for a higher EV and lower variance.

However, being the only casino in the US with the O/U 13 side bet, they know how profitable it can be. They do not tolerate any significant action on it (or so I've been told).

The max bet on the O/U 13 game is $25.00 I believe. Think I'll get much heat if I am betting up to $10-15 when the count is right?

You'd have to ask MJMballer....or however that username goes. I've only heard about it from other people in the area on this forum.

Not a whole lot of experience with it, but I did play it with $10 at favorable counts and didn't experience any heat. Granted, I was losing my hand most of the time, but at least the O/U was helping to balance things. But then again...the security truck did follow me for about a mile as I drove away that night...hmmmmm

Don't get all wet in the pants over it. It's hawked worse than the SD game at El Cortez.

Also remember, this is an Indian casino. They just might steal your winnings and you have no recourse.

What is the number of decks and
penetration where you spotted it?

6 decks with 1.0 penetration. Sometimes slightly less than a deck - closer to 0.9. It's only on 5 of the 76 tables they have on the floor. (I might be off by 1 or so but it's not many.) Only 1 table with O/U in the main pit by the front door - not in use when it's slow. There's 4 tables with O/U in the back pit, in front of the high stakes room.
