EDIT: There is some confusion on ENHC and OBO, OBBO and OBO+1. In Australia, there is no hole card; mainly for government regulation and prevents dealer peeking and collusion. It is not signifcant deviation from having a hole card. In order to explain OBO, OBBO and OBO+1, i will use this example.
88 v 10, You split. You now have 2 units behind the 8s. making 8 8 v 10.

[ 1.] --- 10

(1unit) 8 -- 8 (1unit)

[2.] --- 10

(1unit) 8----8,6 (1unit) [HIT]

[3.] ---- 10

(1unit) 8----8,6,9 (1unit) [BUST]

If a casino uses OBO, they do not take the BUST (1unit) they hold in eschrow. During eschrow, the 1 unit remains in play until the dealer draws his second card. If you doubled and Busted 2 Units are still held in eschrow.
In OBBO and OBO+1 they take the busted bet away; minus 1 unit. If you doubled and busted, both in OBBO and OBO+1 they take 2 units.

[4.] --- 10

(1 Unit)8,3 (Double)

[5.] ---10, A

(2 Unit)8,3,10

Now, in this scenario. In OBO+1 and OBBO, dealer will take 1 unit. Total 2 units. In OBO, dealer will take the 1 unit in eschrow. and leave the 8,3,10 double alone.

[6.] --- 10

(1 Unit)8,5 (Double)

[7.] ---10,

(2 Unit)8,5,10 (BUST)

The difference between OBBO and OBO+1 is when instead of 8,3 you recieve 8,5 and you double on 8,5. If you bust on the 8,5, in OBBO you lose your 2 units and dealer do not draw. in OBO+1, you lose 1 unit and keep your double and dealer doesnt draw. In OBBO you lose 4 Units, in OBO+1 max you lose is 3 Units.
It is better to play an OBO game than OBBO or OBO+1; because you truely only lose 1 Unit on OBO. Therefore OBO still equates to LasStrip rules. OBBO or OBO+1 are slightly unfair. OBBO is the true ENHC equivelant. While OBO+1 sits in the middle.

Very Friendly and personable Customer service in Crown casino. Very nice way to spend the weekend or holiday. Do not expect exceptional croupier skills or service generally. A few exceptional croupiers though. A lot of their Croupiers very personable to talk to, but can't seem to improve their dealing.
Security seemed ok, saw a MSD company badge on a few, so dunno. Never had a run in with their security so can't say.

Fair assessment, I'd say. I went on Saturday and saw a dealer cut around 0.5-0.75 in the Teak Room. Best pen I had ever seen at Crown.

Crown BJ is bad but not rape

I guess this will fall into semantics, but my definition of rape would be unbeatable or scam. Crown BJ on a shoe is harder than other games in australia and the states, but it is definitely beatable.
I understand the pessimism, but when you wager $300 plus on T4 and get two tens v 7, its not like Crown suddenly changes the rules to draw to 20 and standoff on a Dealer 22. It is still blackjack with minor rule variations.

I'm a basic strategy player, so I need things like a reasonable house edge, lots and lots of free liquor, and generous comps. Things that Crown does not have.

So for yourself, it may not be rape. But for me, its uber-rape. Its rape squared (like when a rapist gets raped by another rapist). Its super-mega-magno-rape.

I might have lost five grand in Vegas recently but at least the games were fair, I was consistently plied with free booze and occasionally cigars, and got a good comp at the end of the trip. Thus, whilst I was "f**ked" I wouldn't say I was raped.

Crown, on the other hand, is a totally different animal. I shall never even set foot in there.

Da2

6 months ago I was playing in the Monte Carlo room and I could double on any two. Since when did this change? And why the hell has Crown put CSMs on every damn table now... It doesn't look like they're going to be making anything from the people who think they know how to count.

Maybe they want to isolate the counters by only giving shoes in the Monte Carlo room! :joker:
