do you need to swipe your card or sign up somewhere to be in the promo? or just by playing, you're in?

also, must play be at harrahs specifically or any CET properties ?

From what I can tell, any (or at least most) CET properties/destinations are in.

You need to earn 1 RC per destination.

Let's mail our Total Rewards cards to each other around the country. $5 played through a slot machine equals 1 point so send $5 per destination :)

Vegas and Laughlin are nearby, so is AC and Chester.

I think you need to swipe your card at the promo kiosk.

You do NOT need to swipe your card at any promo kiosk if you are solely trying to get the rewards credits based on play at different locations. I asked the TR desk when I made a recent trip to my local store and they confirmed - all you need to do is get 1 base credit at a minimum of three different geographic locations, and your rewards credits will be deposited in your TR account by Oct 31.

Are you sure? Some how, it seems to make more sense for players to have to 'opt-in' for the promo by swiping in at a kiosk or signing up online at the beginning of all your trips. Think of it this way. Why give away free rewards to players who didn't opt-in but randomly happened to go to 3 or more destinations?

TR desk staff are not always correct IMHO.

I could certainly be misunderstanding everything in that you could opt in online. I've put my email address in and logged in before doing the promo online action, but it's a bit unclear in some versions of the rules whether that gets you in or whether a swipe at each location is needed.

Regardless, just swipe the card at the casino's kiosk and get the point. Not too much more difficult than that I suppose.

So, I've been going crazy trying to figure out this promo. I have conflicting information?

I called a separate TR kiosk and spoke with a very nice representative who had received an e-mail from their marketing manager earlier today. She said that it didn't appear you had to opt in or swipe at a kiosk - only visit the number of unique destinations and the TR system will automatically keep track. However, she mentioned to go to the TR kiosk at the casino to make sure you are "opted in" if that really is the case. She honestly didn't know whether there was an "opt in" or swipe requirement other than earning the 1 base credit.

Online rules are even more confusing. Some Caesar's property sites have conflicting information. One site says

"Here's your chance to rack up bonus Reward Credits. Swipe your Total Rewards® card between Friday, July 1 - Friday, October 3 at select Harrah's Total Rewards Centers during hours of operations and earn bonus Reward Credits. Visit at least 3 different destinations and earn bonus Reward Credits. You could win up to 60,000 bonus Reward Credits!

Visit the following number of destinations within the given period and receive the following bonus Reward Credits:

Visit 3 unique destinations within the offer period & receive 15,000 Promotional bonus Reward Credits
Visit 4 unique destinations within the offer period & receive 30,000 Promotional bonus Reward Credits
Visit 5 unique destinations within the offer period & receive 45,000 Promotional bonus Reward Credits
Visit 6 unique destinations within the offer period & receive 60,000 Promotional bonus Reward Credits

Guest must earn at least 1 base Reward Credit while visiting the destination. Base Reward Credits can be earned by using your Total Rewards card at slots, video poker, tables, qualified shops, restaurants and hotels at the following properties:

Atlantic City, New Jersey (Harrah's, Showboat, Bally's & Caesars)
Maricopa, Arizona (Harrah's Ak Chin)
Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana (Harrah's and Horseshoe)
Chester, Pennsylvania (Harrah's)
Cherokee, North Carolina (Harrah's)
Chicago area (Harrah's Joliet and Horseshoe Hammond)
Biloxi, Mississippi (Grand)
Council Bluffs, Iowa (Harrah's and Horseshoe)
Laughlin, Nevada (Harrah's)
Las Vegas, Nevada (Paris, Bally's, Rio, Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Harrah's, Imperial Palace and Planet Hollywood)
Metropolis, Illinois (Harrah's)
North Kansas City, Missouri (Harrah's)
Tunica, Mississippi (Harrah's, Roadhouse and Horseshoe)
Lake Tahoe area, Nevada (Harrah's and Harvey's)
New Orleans, Louisiana (Harrah's)
Reno, Nevada (Harrah's)
San Diego area, California (Harrah's Rincon)
St. Louis, Missouri (Harrah's)
Elizabeth, Indiana (Horseshoe Southern Indiana)
Windsor, Ontario Canada (Caesars Windsor)

Visits to multiple properties within a destination will not count towards bonus offer.

Bonus Reward Credits will be deposited into qualified guests' Total Reward accounts by October 31, 2011."

Another says:

"The Great Race to Rewards
Earn 60,000 Reward Credits®.

This Summer, the race is on! Earn up to 60,000 Reward Credits exploring the Total Rewards® casinos around the country!

Visit 3 destinations and receive 15,000 Reward Credits.
Receive another 15,000 Reward Credits for each additional destination you visit.

Plus, receive an additional 500 Bonus Reward Credits when you spend a total of $50 at three participating shops, restaurants or hotels within one week.

There’s potential to earn at one destination or across several destinations - the choice is yours.

There are TWO ways to opt-in for this promotion:

Swipe your Total Rewards card at any designated promotional kiosk

OR

Enter on-line at www.TotalRewards.com"

Going to totalrewards.com does not present you with any options to "opt-in" for the promotion. You are only given the chance to enter your information for their drawing - including your TR number. I don't know if this is what actually does the "opt-in"?

I suppose to clear up any confusion, everyone can visit their local store and talk to a TR representative and make sure their TR account is "opted-in" for this promo. If so, you only have to opt in once. If that is the case, the TR system will look at your account to see where your base credits were earned. I was told that if you "opt-in" after playing at a casino, your base credits will still count - however, I have been unable to verify this.

I'm thinking of calling Caesar's tomorrow during business hours....

Finally have an answer!

Great news! I finally have an answer for the Race to Rewards promotion!

I got a call from the Total Rewards group and they verified with the corporate marketing department that you can opt in online at http://www.totalrewards.com by click the Race to Rewards promotion. Even though the link is to enter yourself into daily drawings, there is a spot to enter your TR number. If you enter your TR number when registering for the daily drawings, you are "opted in" for the nation-wide promotion.

It is also retro-active if you got your 1 base credit since July 1. I know this because I was not opted in prior to my play during a short layover in Vegas and a trip to my local store, and the representative confirmed that I have logged play at both locations and they are valid for the promotion.

So, make sure you register for the daily drawings and put your TR number down :)
