Trying to get some info on Chinatown buses leaving from NYC but it's ridiculous how little information is available by using Google. Does anyone know a website or phone number for the Casino buses (and/or schedules) that leave from Chinatown, NYC? Would like to take a break from AC...

Thanks to all!

Around Canal and Bowery, across and next to Confucious Plaza.
There is one "booth" just around Division St. That goes to Trop in AC.
Foxwood and Mohegan sun you can also find buses around there.
few PA casinos, Parx, Sands, Mt. Airy all have buses there...
Be prepared with loud phone calls, Chit Chat
You can always find buses leaving from Penn Station
Good cards.

If you read Chinese, you can buy a copy of "World Journal" or any daily newspaper in Chinatown. There are ads on numerous buses to every possible casino run by tour operators.

:devil:Hell, even you don't read Chinese, you will have no problem to figure out these are advertisements for casinos buses with time schedule and bus departing sites (most in English).

If you don't mind the crowd, it's actually not a bad way to travel. With relative good promotions. You can buy and sell bus coupons without too much problems. Trips are between 10 to 15 bucks with another 2 bucks as mandatory tips.... they are also more frequent than greyhound.... in the evenings usually every hour or so til 12or later...

Fung Wah is the name of one of the bigger companies. I saw one of their buses in flames on the way to Foxwoods one night. It was a classic "Chinese fire drill."
The Fung Wah only goes between Boston and NY (well, whenever it makes it in one piece) it doesn't stop at the casinos.

I'd think it would be a great idea to start a regular commuter bus service from Parx to NYC. It has a huge parking lot that is never full on weekdays. Parx would benefit because some commuters would go to the casino after work.

There is an Amtrak stop on the NE Corridor line at Cornwells Heights which is a few miles from Parx. Parx should work out a deal with them and have a bus to shuttle from the station to the casino.

I wanted to thank everyone for their contributions to helping me find a way out to FW or PA via a Chinese bus but for reasons stated below, I ended up going back to AC after all... but I'm not giving up.. LOL!! I will find my way out to FW or PA stores via bus somehow -- I promise :p

If you want to come to Connecticut, try looking up Foxwoods bus schedule.
Thanks PMP. that was my original intention, to find alternatives to AC, primarily FW and PA stores... and, the FW web site was the way that made most sense... however, have you gone on that web site recently? Have you gotten to the "direction by bus" link?? What a waste of time, even the phone numbers listed are for private homes...

Ahh HsiaoDi, after reading this post, I went downtown the same day after work and began walking aimlessly through Chinatown in 90+ degree weather :)eek:) - looking for booths and buses... I found every itinerary imaginable, including buses to Turning Stone, however neither FW, MS, nor PA shops...
And the local(s), Chinese, were about as helpful as a kick in the ass... :whip:
most pretended either not to see you or not to understand you...

Thanks Genius, no such luck -- under the circumstances, I was in no mood to stop in the scorching heat and try to decipher a foreign newspaper...

Thanks AM, I found this bus company, probably the easiest to track down considering the "Mystery of the Orient" that is Chinatown... unfortunately, as someone else mentioned further down, it's express to Boston and back.

Spend a few dollars more and go with Greyhound or one of the companies with a proven track record.
Mr. Shad, it was never about the $$$, don't know why you would assume so... as a matter of fact, I travel most exclusively to and from AC to NYC by Greyhound.. I think it's a GREAT deal monetarily and for the comfort level, but most importantly for me are the 4-day open tickets and the frequency of the schedules that they run from most stores... I was looking for a bus out of Chinatown because the Greyhound going to CT runs express (2.25 hrs) on Fridays, Sat, and Sunday -- the rest of the week it becomes a 5+ hour trip each way and unfortunately for me, I could only travel mid-week. (Which works out great for going to AC and beating the crowds to the F/P machines and BJ tables!! :cool2:)

MR. HsiaoDi, I've heard of all the things you mentioned above and that was also interesting to me. I've also heard of many (retired?) Chinese going back and forth all day, constantly collecting $10 bucks per trip.. ;) I guess it beats staying home... Now if I could only find that "booth" w/ schedules... :flame:

I heard Greyhound was a dog.
I disagree... besides AC, I've also taken Greyhound to Philly, DC, and West VA... never a problem. Only have trouble during snowstorms as their chouffeurs are contracted out and call out -- therefore finding myself stranded once or twice -- only during big snows though... Academy becomes the alternative then, although I end up losing 1/2 round trip on Greyhound ticket... no biggie.

From N Y C — Greyhound and Academy that have semi-continous buses to A. C. and CT.
Flash, you know I know that very well -- I always carry a Greyhound schedule on me at all times, you never know when you will catch some + variance and will want to hang out at the tables and catch the next bus...

That's a great idea -- as a matter of fact, why are the bus companies so reluctant to have Casino Buses out to PA shops the same way they have for AC or CT? I mean, it's been +/- a year now, hasn't it? Is it because very few casinos in PA them have hotels?

I didn't think the humor emoticon was necessary for that pun. I guess I was wrong.
No Tthree, you weren't wrong, the pun was understood and well-received. I wanted to play it safe and respond as truthfully as possible, as I've heard many out there trashing Greyhound for the clientele, and services as a whole. Plus, I'm aware that you mostly drive from shop to shop and for a second, I thought it may have been a sincere inquiry -- :joker:

The easiest way to travel down that way is the Northeast Corridor rail service, and Parx or other nearby casinos could have their bus meet people at the Trenton station. 10 miles.

Smart casinos would make it a regular practice to run courtesy shuttles from mass transit, because not only would they get customers in more easily, they will get a better pick of employees because more workers will be within commuting range.
