Boards closing, discussion

Great site. Of course sad it's gone, but thanks for the heads up and archiving all threads.

Running a forum (especially this large) is difficult. There is something going on 24/7. Even if there's not, its always in the back if your mind. Thanks Ken for your hard work. Only been here 6 months but I've discovered things I would have never discovered without blackjackinfo.

Please let me know what sites some of you regulars are heading. I will most certainly follow.

Ken, you must do what is best for yourself. I appreciate everything you've done to keep it running smoothly. Even though I am very disappointed and saddened, I understand it must be done. :(

I have enjoyed my time on this forum. This site, and its knowledgeable members, have made a tremendous positive impact on my game. I will forever be grateful to have been a part of it.

Good cards to everyone.

Ken -

Thanks for the remarkable resource here. I'm sorry that the forum will be closed but completely understand. I also run a forum and it's a pretty thankless job, not to mention frustrating and annoying.

I want to thank everyone who helped me on my journey. I'll miss the discussions here.

Having been a board moderator in the past, I completely empathize. This forum has been invaluable to me and has aided my growth immensely. Thanks, Ken.

I only recently showed up at this board, and up until now have only been a lurker. I'd like to thank you for hosting this site and it's vast amount of information for the vets and the newbies like me

Good luck sir.

The right decision

If you don't want to be an unpaid babysitter, you shouldn't. The hassles involved in moderating and de-spamming a discussion board are ongoing and thankless.

I appreciate the help you have given me by allowing access to so many good posts here.

You done good for a lot of people. Thank you!

I can open a new forum for bj

Pls inform all to my forum when its ready

Thanks
Just curious, but who among us would be interested in such a new forum? I don't think any of the existing forums are good options, to be honest. If enough people from here were interested in participating in a new one, it could probably take off.

Though I don't post often, I do check it out 2-3 times a week.

So thank you Ken, and all contributors.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

Ken, thank you for the work that you have put in over the years to maintain this site. I echo the sentiments of other posters that being an admin on any board (much less one with contentious topics) is not exactly easy.

I had also been concerned at the level of information that had been cropping up on a forum that is completely open; one does not even have to login to search. Bjinfo helped me get on my feet in the start, and I have met some pretty fantastic people that I greatly enjoy playing with.

However, in the long run I must sadly agree that the closure is likely +ev (or at least not a further -ev) for many of us. This is not something that I particularly like, but it is reality.

So, go out there, play some cards, win some money, and hopefully the casino ecosystem shall continue to support the fauna that it does.

I would absolutely be interested, and I agree that none of the existing ones seem to fit the bill.

Ken,

I also have been the moderator of a LARGE forum and yes, it's a drain when there other things you'd rather be doing than policing spam-bots.

I hope to one day meet you in person.

Ken, I totally understand your rationality here, but you have created something genuine and real in this website, if you shut it down it will be lost forever. I am sure most if not all of the members here would maybe pay for membership, or perhaps there is another way to generate revenue to pay somebody to run the website for you?

Maybe. You could just recruit more long time members like myself and others to deal with the trolling spamming etc so it won't be a headache to you.

Surely you have pride in what you have created in this website, not everybody gets to do something that really does help the world in a way that you have even if the world your helping is a smaller portion of people, all of those people enjoy your website and what you have created.
