The casinos DO go to a great deal of effort to claim that they have the "loosest slots" in town. Maybe that's a typo and they meant the easiest women frequent their establishments.

The lottery has a 50% house edge, yet people play it daily. I have only bought a handful of lottery tickets in my life. I treat it as paying a dollar to dream all day when the jackpot is sky high. And it is +EV to buy a lottery ticket when the jackpot is very high since the expected return is higher than a dollar.

The neverending progression of progression bettors at this site is testament to the obstinate refusal of humans to absorb certain realities. As with food labelling, people simply will not read the information.

I would support more public availability of slot machine odds.

I have no idea why people will play games at which they cannot compute the EV, negative though it may be.

The beautiful thing about craps and roulette is that you are free to grab a pencil and figure out just how much you're paying for the privilege of gambling.
