Default Sports Fans?

Just wondering if there were any big sports fans here?

I am a huge MLB and NFL fan and the occasional NBA fan (usually when the playoffs start, though that may not even happen with the current state of the sport).

Hell, I'll even watch a major golf or tennis tourney.

I go to plenty of baseball games in my area throughout the season and with football just starting up it's a great time of year!!!

Anyone else out there huge sports nerds like me?

Mostly just football, primarily NFL. The best sport in the world. A true team sport where a team can't be carried by a superstar. If one O-lineman is weak the best quarterback can appear mediocre. One defensive back can't cover, they move the ball on him all day. If special teams are weak you lose 20 to 30 yards on each exchange. If they are strong a great defense with a mediocre offense can move the ball toward the goal over a few possession exchanges. When everyone pulls their weight (no weak links to exploit) a group of average pros can take the team to the super bowl.

I agree with your premise that it is a true team sport but if you don't think one man can make a huge difference, take a look at the Colts sans Peyton Manning.

You are turning my comment on its head. That happens a lot on this site. My point was more like one weak link prevents an all star from carrying a team unlike in many other sports. Put manning on a team whose quarterback spends all day picking himself off the turf and you will see more of what I was talking about.

True, pro football is the best sport, and the US's favorite sport. Its the sport I primarily watch.

While all other sports ratings continue to decline significantly, its the only sport who's ratings go up.
