In the circumstance of people starving to death, who is being judgmental? Apparently in the circumstance I reported, either the people were not aware of the health department citation, or they were naively trustful of the guilty restaurant and/or the public health system. If you would like to eat there, I'll be happy to check and see if they are still in business. I applaud your spirit of adventure!

I did some checking. The restaurant in question had a special dish in which they did not specify what the meat was. Tasted really good according to my friend who ate there. When the health department came in they found more than a dozen skinned cats hanging in the freezer. That's when they closed them down. Whether.it was because cat was illegal, or because it did not come through the USDA.inspection system, l don't know. My friend never ate there again. And it's true about the long line to get in once they reopened. You be the judge why.

Geez, this is right up my alley. I assume you're on Warfarin and not Lovanox( low molecular weight Heparin) or the new anticoagulant Pradaxa(?). If so, I'm 9 yrs post-op, St. Jude valve, mitral position. Was the day before thanksgiving, 2002, no sh*t. Coumadin is my friend. If you ate vitamin K rich veggies before, you can certainly continue to eat them, just don't go on a bonzo-binge. Keep up with your INR, stay in therapeutic range and you should be good to go. And avoid sky-diving, moto-cross, snow-skiing etc
Warfarin (coumadin) blocks the utilization of Vitamin K in something like 10 of the 14 clotting factors(been awhile sine I read up on it).
