How 'bout those Southern Miss Golden Eagles
#24 Southern Miss handed #6 Houston their first loss of the season in the Conference USA championship game today, and blasted them right out of their Sugar Bowl appearance.
Final score today: Southern Miss 49, Houston 28.
It's an impressive win for the Conference USA champion Golden Eagles.
Ironically, this is a very expensive win for Southern Miss. Had Houston won, they were guaranteed a spot in the Sugar Bowl and Conference USA would have received about $17 million as a result. USM's cut of that would have been well over a million dollars. By beating Houston, they won't see that money. Sucks, eh?

Congrats to your (and I think, Brett Favre's) alma mater!!!!! Yeah, the financial result does suck.
Will the Bears contact either Favre or McNabb? Given a choice between those two, I'd have to go with Brett.
You noticed that "my Badgers" won the Big Ten Championship?

Houston was overrated. They played nobody. Reminded me of the Houston team a few years back when Kevin Kolb (formerlly of my Eagles) was quarterback and ran up all kinds of magnificent stats. I think they beat Sisters of the Blind University by 6 touchdowns.
Congrats to your Southern Miss, Ken. Hope you bet the moneyline. They were 2 Td underdogs, no? That had to be +1000 or more moneyline (10-1)

I had them on the M/L... it was only +12... so +355. It could have been up to +400 if you had gotten it early

That doesn't sound right to me, newbctr. Usually a touchdown dog in football is somewhere about +300 to +350. For example pro games this coming week Washington and KC are both getting 8.5 pts and the money lines are +350 and +380 respectively. A 2 TD dog, should be much more. Granted not +1000. That was wishful thinking, but at least +600 to +700ish. And I believe I saw Southern Miss at +14.5 during the week, because I was interested in the game thinking Houston were overrated, but in the end decide I wasn't familiar enough with southern Miss, so I laid off.

key word there is "usally." Late action drove the line down to 12 (yes it had been higher) and the ML to below +400. Money lines aren't fixed based on lines, but are based on supply and demand. See the link below for the line movements.
Hope things are well buddy.
