Question about DB Formula.

#1
Hi everyone.

I would like to ask about the first formula of the four new ones that BJA presents on its 3th edittion (pag 136), called Double Barrier formulas.

This formula yields the probability of reach a goal before going broke, given a certain time constraint.

So, the second term of this first formula contains an infinit serie.

I looked through my math book, seeking out if it serie is a kind of geometric or power serie, etc; to get the final sum, but I couldn't figure it out.

So the question is, how to solve the equation?

Thanks form Argentina.

i basically just wrote an algorithm to figure out when the terms get small enough to ignore. dont think it can be solved outright.

You are right.

I have already solved it.
Like you, I also wrote an algorithm and I did the same thing.
I got the same values as the QFIT on-line calculator, so it seems to be right.

could help if you post the series..
Is too long and I think it can't write whit simple characters.

Thanks for the replies
