i'm in vegas for the first time and the first thing that I was wondering

This is a rather disturbing thread. From thoughts expressing every female in Vegas is a hooker, to a discussion of not wanting to marry a whore. (dah!) A discussion of a "classy hooker". The comment that the vast majority of woman are prositutes. And finally the very sad comment that it is ok to abuse another human being.
Hookers are very -EV as a few have stated. Especially for a serious blackjack player (pro or not) who is carry around a good deal of funds. Prime target.
In addition to the risk you are taking with disease and such, most of these woman, even at the "higher" end of the scale have drug addictions that fuel this lifestyle. There is a great deal of crime associated with it as well. Working girls frequently rob their patrons, sometimes at gun point, sometimes after drugging them, sometimes they have an associate they summons to the room for assistance. You won't read about this in the papers or see it on the news as there is a concerted effort to keep these incidents and most crime, especially involving tourists quiet. It is bad for the hotel in question and bad for the industry and bad for the city. For the most part the media goes along with this and you won't hear about these types of incidents unless someone dies, but they are very commonplace. So I advise you guys to be careful, although it sounds like some of you may deserve what you get. :laugh:

I think you watch too much CSI: las vegas. I agree that these incidences do happen, and that many hookers are drug addicts. Not the, I'm doing this to pay for college kinda girl :laugh: but these incidences happen as frequently as plane crashes. how often do people take a ride on a plane? how often does a crash happen? sure, when it does happen, it's a big deal. Soooooo, how often do tourists ride a hooker? how often do hookers pull a fast one on their customer? you're telling me that a hooker with her hoodlums is gonna rob someone in a gigantic hotel casino with a crap ton of surveilance? not to mention the time it takes to leave a room and find an exit?
face it, my comment about almost every vegas resident is a hooker or wanna be is true. of course not the fatties, but I'd say that half the women I approached in a bar/club was actually a hooker or wanna be. unfortunately 100% that approached me in the bar were hookers!
Nevada is the only state in which prostitution is legal. hell, there's even a friggin HBO reality show about it. cathouse something. watch that a few times instead of CSI: vegas:laugh:

I have never seen CSI, smart ass! But as a resident here, I do occasionally read the crime stats. Last year there were 362 cases of trick rolls reported. Yes, it is so common that they have a name for it. I think we can all agree that the cases actually reported are just the tip of the iceberg as most men would not report such a crime, for fear that they themselves would be in trouble for picking up a prositute or just out of embarrassment.
Don't let that stop you though Jack. Be reckless. It rarely happens. About as often as a plane crash. Won't possibly happen to you. :laugh:
