I found an app for the iphone called KineticVisionAcuity. Google it, it's freaking awesome. I started using it less than a week ago with a decent amount of frequency, and I'm already seeing results (no pun intended). I'm not sure if it's related to the training app, but my recognition seems a lot quicker when scanning tables, I barely need to see the cards. Again, it could just be me flipping through decks and playing Multihand Blackjack HD on my ipad to and from work.

Just get a deck of cards and white out the indexes. Then practice counting with it. You'll be able to recognize the difference between a 9 and a pip ten in no time.

Or just turn on the "No numbers on cards" feature in Casino Verite which does this for both play and drills. Been there for about 12 years.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology from a major university. Some of the research I have studied would agree with the notion of these programs improving your ability to read holecards.
