FireKeepers Casino

This large new casino slated to open later this year outside Battle Creek Michigan had a jobs fair and 15,000 applied for 1,500 jobs. This tells me that the economy is very bad and that the new employees will mostly be experienced. Thus few if any weak dealers on opening day. This is a Potawatomie tribe casino, as is the new Buffalo casino that is located about an hour away. Both of these casinos are right off major Xways.

Michigan will also be getting it's 24th casino as it appears all legal blockades have been removed for another tribal casino, S. of Grand Rapids.

I am sure the quality of games in Mi. will have to improve greatly with all the competition coming on line. Alot of casino are already scrambling for business. Some may fail.

Most of the people in Michigan who are out of work are laid off from the manufacturing industry. I'm willing to bet that most of those who applied have no experience with dealing. There have been layoffs at other casinos in the state, but these places were hundreds of miles away. Sure, there are probably a few dealers from other casinos, but I'm willing to bet that opening day will see lots of errors.

Here around the D-Town(Detroit), Greektown casino is about an inch away from bankruptcy. Honestly, I say good riddance. Out of the 3 Detroit casinos, I can say Greektown is by far the lowest joint of the bunch. Dark, deary and it just feels like it's run by some shady people. Worst blackjack game of the 3, because of those damn CSMs.

Maybe it's just better marketing, but is there any coincidence that the order of revenue from the 3 Detroit casinos is 1-MGM 2-MotorCity 3-Greektown, and the best blackjack games in Detroit are 1-MGM 2-MotorCity 3-Greektown? I like to think that has something to do with it.

Slick, I am referring to BJ dealers and to some extent craps dealers, and there are plenty of them from around the state, and outside the state, looking for work. Still, it would be nice to be there on opening day, and I will try to be. I hung out at Windsor plenty when they first had craps and the errors were amazing.

I do not want G-Town to close, it will LESSEN competition.

There are 3 casinos in the state in trouble, G-Town, Chip Inn, and Turtle Creek. I hope they can all work things out.

The Tribe behind G-Town should have never got involved with a fully state regulated casino, it was far beyond their managment skills. I hope they can extricate themselves, they are good people out of their realm.

What Michigan needs to do is begin to push their casino industry to the tourism market, big time. It has much to offer, especially in the summer.

Minimum age at firekeepers?

I'm only 20 and am also hoping dearly that firekeepers has a minimum gambling age of 18, although I'm expecting it to be 21. I looked everywhere online but can't find the information, do any of you know?

I read that the casino south of grand rapids will be 21, damn. WHY?

gambling age minimums

As far as I know all U.S. casinos use 21 as their minimum gambling age, except for
SOME Indian casinos where 18 is used, e.g. Turning Stone Casino, in N.Y. State.

There's a few in Michigan that are 18+.
