Ac Story

#1
I went to ac on monday, i got there at like 5 am. First i went to borgata and i was looking for a table, they are were 25 and up, one was 15, so i waited until the shoe ends. I didnt wanna play that table but since im here i was like whatever so after two bets i made $30 then i left the table cuz i dont have enough bk so i was worry that im gonna lose, Then i went to triump i was ahead 100 and then everything changed i was down 150 so i left, then i went to ballys they got some 10 tables as well in triump. I was ahead 55 then down over 200....

Hey how come that im not making any money? Oh thats right i went to casino and i lost over 300, no wonder why...

It seems that i gotta put 100 bets first when i start playing the game so maybe after couple hands i can make couple hundred, cuz its always like this ... Im making good money when i start playing the game and then all the sudden im losing no matter what,

oh best ones from last night

Im getting A A (im like nice) ... dealer gets a bj ...

I have 20 dealer 4....makes a bj and wins

Or better dealer pulls bj from 6 cards !

When i was doubling down i always got a low card

on my last hand before i was supposed to leave i got 9 vs 5 and i could dd but since i was lossing all the time on dd i was like **** it... and it was actually a 10 .. hey if i dd then it would be a low card so anyway i cant be pisst

ok i gotta go now do school stuff later

You didn't state whether you were attempting to count or just playing basic strategy or worse, so can't comment too specifically. I'll assume you were just playing. Here's a couple thoughts for your next trip.

First of all terminology. Minor point, but the dealer didnot pull a BJ after showing a 4. Nor did he/she pull a 6 card BJ. A blackjack, player or dealer occurs only with the two initial cards, an ace and ten value card. anything else is a 21.

Ok venues. You should have stayed at borgata, they have the best games in AC, especially at low limits. Sounds like you encountered the $25 tables closest to the front door. Borgata is a big place and has several other pits. If you walk around towards the back of the casino, there is another pit which usually has $10 games and sometimes a $5 game. They are 8 decks, but s17 and decent penetration for AC. I won't comment on the Trump property since you didn't specify which one. As for Bally's....ugh Horrible game. dealer hit soft 17, and not good penetration. Again, at low stakes, borgata is best AC game.

I'm curious about this, Jason. Do you think borgata's better games is actually attracting more customers? I was under the impression the general public knows very little about what makes a "good game," and therefore Borgata would probably make more profit by following suit and only offering H17 games, if most people don't know the difference.

Not that I'm complaining, just curious...

Although Borgata's numbers are down along with everyone else in AC, the last time I looked they tend to decline less the most of the other casinos. In January 2010, Borgata's casino win was 56 million, 18 million higher than the next AC casino (ceasers) and 22 million higher than the taj which has a hair more casino floor space and 22 million more than bally's which has 40% more casino floor space, so they must be doing something right.

I think they tend to attract a slightly higher quality of players than some of the other casinos, who may be a little more knowledgeable.

As for the public not knowing. I disagree with that concept. Casinos that put in the crappy BJ rules or lower the video poker payouts or even slot machine payouts may initially profit from such in the short run, but it doesn't take long for ploppies or even slot players to realize that they aren't winning as often as they used to. Winning trips are farther and fewer between than they used to be and then guess what, they stop going altogether. These people don't require that they win in the long run, they just require that they have a gamblers chance at winning and once they have lost confidence in that, they stop going. Those casino short term gains turn into permanate loss of customers and long term losses. just my opinion though. I keep waiting for casino execs to wake up and start competeing for customers and it just doesn't seem to happen. :-(

It the decor, ambiance and Borgata Babes that attract the crowds

Seriously, it is a very nice looking place. I think the game itself makes a minimal difference. Some players may note the 6D v 8D difference, but I believe very few notice the other rules. Take the Harrahs games (please!) 8D H17, in LV even 6:5. Is there a shortage of players at those games? Appears not to me.

Another example - without getting into specifics, I play a casino that is very Borgata-like. It's new, nice decor, nice looking waitresses, etc. Comps are mediocre. It's a 6D H17 game, but it's always crowded compared with other nearby casinos.

From a whole casino experience point of view (namely clientele and atmosphere), AC's Marina properties are head and shoulders above the Boardwalk. Unfortunately, Harrah's is 1/3 of the equation out there...but at least their dice tables and crews are decent

good luck :joker:

There's always a $5 at the Borgata. It's virtually impossible to get a seat at, but it's there.

And even at the low-limit tables, players seem to be very knowledgeable about S17 -- maybe not the exact numbers, but they know it's better for some reason.

Also, do keep in mind that you will certainly incur some pretty significant losses over time. Variance is a harsh mistress. It can be very discouraging at the time, but if your bankroll is big enough you can ride it out.

But, be very careful with the tables you play at. If you plan on counting and sit down at a $15 table, you (in my humble opinion) should have a fairly sizable bankroll (as in a dedicated $5,000 ish depending on if you can replenish it).

Keep working on your AP skills, and stick in there. BJ can be a hell of a lot of fun, and hair-pulling at the same time!

Yeah, I should have clarified a bit more in my original post though (ie given both general figures). As a friend of mine has told me "The only thing you need to win a small fortune is a big one" :)
