And what about this?

Sonny,

What do you think this?

The MIT has a similar list where they pegged any card towards a word.

That I already have memorized, You also have the journey approach. Distributing data mentally in different rooms in your house. I always store the jacks in jack in the box here at Nellis Bonanza. :laugh:

Thanks for your help to me,

But for 6 decks I would like to have trained that memory so I can really get some powerfull information when I am playing there. I know that for 1 and 2 deck you do not need that but as your favourite student I am looking forward for getting an iron memory....:laugh:

By the way Sonny...why that reference link of you is using this....

2 of spades = 21 = net. Why not directly linked to the word net. That is what the MIT list looks like too. By the way that can be downloaded for free at their website. Do I miss something?

It looks good, but I don’t know if it will work well for cards. The binary system is better for remembering large sequences of numbers, but it doesn’t retain the information for suits. That is very important with sequencing.

I prefer the peg system. It gives you good images and the peg words can easily be related back to the card because they sound similar. That is the system I used to use.

The journey approach is good for remembering several sequences. You can put three people in each room (two key cards and the target card) and have them standing in the right order. I’ve never tracked multiple sequences, but that is how I would do it if I ever did.

My mistake. I didn’t know it was publicly available. I will fix your post now.

The 19th hole on a golf course is slang for the "club house" where you pound a few back with your buddies and talk about those two great shots that made you look like Tiger Woods while ignoring the other 102 bad shots. So this reference would make sense to a regular golfer.

The list you gave above is a list of running counts, not key words for memorized cards. I haven’t sequenced in a loooong time but when I did I used something like this:

http://www.thememorypage.net/how-to-count-cards/

I tweaked a few of them for myself but you get the idea.

I can see how it would be easy to memorize the numbers, (21=2 of spades, 52=5 of hearts, 93 = 9 of clubs, 64= 6 of diamonds), but remembering an individual word for each combination, that seems kind of tough.

It's not that hard if you can pick good peg words for each card. They should be words that are a vivid image or an action in your mind, and also words/images that you can convert back to cards easily. For example:

“I see my date at the door has a case of hives that are sore.”

That's an easy image to keep in your head, and it's a 6-card sequence.

See = Spade Three
Date = Diamond Eight
Door = Diamond Four
Case = Club Ace
Hives = Heart Five
Sore = Spade Four

Those aren't the words that I use, but it's simple enough to create your own set of peg words that will be easy for you to remember. You can even make them more personal by including family members or personal experiences.

Or do this...

2 of diamonds = DEW
3 of diamonds = DREAM
4 of diamonds = DOOR
5 of diamonds = DIVE
6 of diamonds = ....uh oh nm

I'm wondering if some dude uses this system and pictures a bunch of cocks everytime a six of diamonds is one of his key cards.

Like I said, whatever words evoke memories of your personal experiences. :laugh:

But seriously, you should create a system that works for you. There are many different variations on this idea and some of them are used by the world’s leading memory experts. The ones that I used to use are a variation on Sal Piacente’s system for memorizing sequences of cards. Many of these systems are very easy to use and they can be even easier if you can find a way to adapt them to your situation.

I was messing around, making up my own peg words for each card, I couldn't quite finish the second set. I did a bunch of patterns to see what works best.

The first set of peg words:

1) just uses the first letters of the suits and
2) rhyme with the number of the card (i.e. 2 = spew) ,

Second set:

1) The words advance in the number of letters
2) All the peg words that have the same numbers rhyme with each other, except for the face cards.
3) All the words start with the same letter of the suit
4) 2s,3s,4s = one syllable 5s,6s,7s = two syllables 8s,9s,10s= three syllables jack, queen, king = four syllables
5) All 7s have "stick" in them, all 8s have "snowman" in them, 6s have "prick" in them, 9s have "lessprick" in them (sort of names that remind of you the picture, yep I have a dirty dirty mind). All the twos and threes end in a vowel.

spaded 2 = Spew....................Sy
spaded 3 = Spree....................See
spaded 4 = Spore....................Sore
spaded 5 = Spied.................
spaded 6 = Spix......................Sadprick
spaded 7 = Spedin...................Speedstick
spaded 8 = Spate....................SadSnowMan
spaded 9 = Spine....................SpineLessPrick
spaded 10= Send
spaded jack = Spock..................Stevey the Jack
spaded queen = Speen...............Stephy the Queen
spaded king = Sping..................Stevey the King

hearted 2 = Who........................Hi
hearted 3 = Hee........................He
hearted 4 = Whore.....................Whore
hearted 5 = Hive.....................
hearted 6 = Hics........................Hugeprick
hearted 7 = Heaven...................Hockstick
hearted 8 = Hate......................Hardsnowman
hearted 9 = Hind.......................Headlessprick
hearted 10 = Hen
hearted jack = Hack..................Huckleberry
hearted queen = Heen...............Harriette Queen
hearted king = Hing.................Harry the King

clubbed 2 = Cue.......................Bi
clubbed 3 = Creed.....................Bee
clubbed 4 = Clove.....................Bore
clubbed 5 = Clive
clubbed 6 = Clicks.....................BigPrick
clubbed 7 = Cleft......................BigStick
clubbed 8 = Cleat.....................BigSnowMan
clubbed 9 = Climb.....................BrainLessPrick
clubbed 10 = Clem
clubbed jack = Clack
clubbed queen = Christina...........Brittany Queen
clubbed king = Chrissy................Bobby the King

diamond 2 = Due......................Di
diamond 3 = Dee......................Dee
diamond 4 = Door.....................Door
diamond 5 = Dive......................
diamond 6 = Dicks.....................Dumbprick
diamond 7 = Divein....................DipStick
diamond 8 = Date......................DumbSnowMan
diamond 9 = Dine.......................DickLessPrick
diamond 10 = Den
diamond jack = Dack....................Danny the Jack
diamond queen = Deen.................Dannielle the Queen
diamond king = Ding..................Danny the King

If anybody has any of their own set of peg words to share, or wants to fill in the gaps and/or improve upon my peg words, have fun.

At the time there were two casinos that had great sequencing opportunities. Once those games died out, I didn’t find any others that were strong enough to keep playing. The variance was just too high compared to other methods I was using. Most shuffles just don’t give me enough information to be safely exploited, and being able to lock up a table can be tough. Unless you can find a special opportunity or you have a very accurate technique, it’s a very dangerous way to make money. Since that time there have always been other opportunities so I haven’t gone back to sequencing in several years.
