Where's the best place to find $5 BJ on the Strip?
I plan to play a lot (BJ only) so want to stay at a hotel that has $5 tables (that you can get a seat at) in their casino.

I'm leaning strongly to Sahara (also on a budget).
Want to save money on room to have more to spend in casino.

Any suggestions?

Sahara has only CSMs,as far as I know.Although its been awhile,I think the Slots of Fun annex of Circus Circus has the better game.Imperial Palace HAD a nice $5 table but that might be a thing of the past.
If you sign up for a players card at Sahara, you can buy $50 in promo chips for $40,its like getting two $5 chips free.Tropicana advertises $5 games but I've never been in the joint.

CSM is ok for me since I only use BS, no counting.

Thanks for the reminder on the players card. Will definitely get that for the promo chip deal.

ZMan even if you don't count please don't play at tables with CSM's. We must convince everyone not to play these machines so the casinos would be forced to get rid of them.

Boy I am with you on this ST. When will people stop playing 6-5 BJ and playing against CSM. :whip: My god get the word out to one and all. As much as I love to play BJ there have been many times in the past 2 years when I have been in casinos with friends and have just stood and watched the whole night instead of playing because of the above conditions. If people dont stop playing these games pretty soon all casinos will be using these rules and the game will be lost. Please everyone no matter what NO 6-5 BJ NO CSM EVER !!!!!!

Sahara

When did the Sahara go to exclusive CSMs? It's been a year or so since I played there, but at that time, they had $5 and even $3 tables that were not CSM.

Ellis Island casino has $1 BJ from 10am-2pm Mon-Fri. It's only at one table, but at least it's not a CSM where your money will be lost much faster. They also give out $5 matchplay coupons when you eat there. You can also get their $1 microbrew beer at their bar. And they're only about a block from the strip!

It's kinda hard to convince non-counters not to play them since it doesn't matter to them. Except for the fact that they lose more money per hour, but usually non-counters think of more hands per hour as a good thing, and they dont think of it as losing more money.

Amen to that!!

SysT and N-C
Staying away from CSMs which may be a crutch to a BS player when he is only a BS player is kinda like only knowing how to drive an automatic trans. and later decides to really "drive" a car. What happens when the BS player wants to go the next step and become an AP? His crutch has now become his brick wall. (going to stick my toy CSM voodoo doll)

The best $5 on strip -and its a pretty good game with the right dealer- is SlotsFun. 2D/s17/DAS and full-pay LLadies. I have found more than a few flashers there as well in the last 12-months! zg

Ellis Island also has a great $5 steak(you get a $5 matchplay with it) and the Las Vegas Advisor has an unlimited drinks for 2 people coupon in its funbook. When I used it,we tipped the barkeep $5 with the coupon, and $1 a drink and he let us drink all nite. I was drinking LI Iced Teas and they were pretty good. Just use the coupon AFTER you play, not before.

I also think it is the only S-17 double deck game on the strip for under $50 bucks.

Sun Coast

I just returned from 10 days in vegas... with very positive results. It is not on the strip, but SunCoast has a ton of BJ tables -- most were $5 even during the 4th of July week.

Plus the Dealers are very personalble and fun.... its worth the trip off the strip

The SunCoast does not peek under their tens so you have to be careful. However, they do have an incredible DD game. The rules aren't great but there are some great opportunities there.

Sonny, do they just collect original bets on the "no-peek?" We'll be in that part of town (Mandalay Bay) on the 3rd of Sept. Are the $5 tables all 6-deck?

I'm not sure if they collect the original bet or the splits/doubles as well. I only got to play for a little while because they were absolutely packed on Monday night. There should be $5 DD tables available anytime as well as $5 6D. I checked during Grave and Swing shift and found $5 tables.
