What to do? Think I was slipped a ruffie.

Hi all, I am just learning to play bj and I went to a pretty back-wood Casino. I am an 'alone' woman. I don't drink booze while playing and I sip a soda because I have a long drive and I don't want to stop to pee on my way home (3 hr drive). The last night I had two guys acting weird. They were definitely together and one sat down next to me and played (very badly I might add). After about 15 minutes the other guy sat on the other side of me and acted like he didn't know his buddy (I may have asked why he didn't sit next to his bud and he said 'who?'). The one started whispering very quietly next to me. He was not trying to truly converse, but was trying to act like he was saying something to me .... I still don't understand that. About an hour after that, I had a distinctly 'drunk' feeling. I had the dealer hold my hand, dumped my drink, and got a screw-top bottled water. For about the next hour or two I could not add -- even a stupid 4+3 made me go to my fingers and verify with the dealer the total -- WOW. Anyway, the cards were crap do adding wouldn’t have done anything anyway. When the cards changed about 2 hours later, I had my wits back. I won about 30% of my petting pool so I'm okay with the evening.
MY QUESTION: Do you think I was ruffied or since this whole scene is new to me just disoriented? If I was ruffied, should I call the Casino to be on the lookout for the punks?

assclown was speaking softly so you would have to look at him (wtf?) to 'hear' him awhile the other turd slipped you a mick...common asshattery (thx JCA)..being a lady, you must pay better attention

once playing SD unrated I had this certain PC standing behind me to the right (i was playing 1st two spots) literally whispering my name (and continued to get louder) in my right ear in an attempt to get me to turn my head...yup, he knew who i was..left shortly after

nice comeback though when you got your wits back!

Id call the casino with the date and time and table location. People like that should be put in jail. If they are regulars Im sure the casino would want to know about it. You may even get some apology perks from the casino.

Big caution though, dont say anything to blow your cover. If your play is to obvious maybe you are better off letting it go. Especially if you dont want to lose this casino as an option. If your driving 3 hours, you might have limited options or it may be that the game is just that much better than the other options. It would be sad to have these lowlifes victimizing other people but you must weigh the pros and cons.

I don't think any of the applies to the OP. But certainly, I would call the casino and see if they can look into it.

Most casinos keep surveillance tapes for 24 hours; some keep them longer. If it's not too far, I would GO to the casino as soon as possible and talk to security in person. If one of those guys DID do something, and the tapes still exist; you may even be saving someone's life in the future.

You were NOT drugged.

It takes a LONG time for that drug to wear off,

and a side effect of that drug is partial amnesia.

You'd have been confused and very drowsy.

If it had been mixed into an alcoholic drink, you'd have been unconscious.

There are NO sedatives that simply wear off very quickly.

Casinos only keep tapes for 24 hours? I find that hard to believe. I've heard of police reveiwing tapes weeks after the fact to see if someone was in a casion when they claimed they were.

Some barbituates are eliminated from the bloodstream rather quickly. For example; Ambien has a half-life of less than 2 hours. So IMO, the OPs' worries are not out of the question.

It actually sounds like the OP was given GHB, or liquid X(the other date rape drug). wears off in a few hours.

You're probably right about that. Nowadays that everything's digital, I'm sure it's a lot easier to keep them a lot longer. Either way; if she's going to act, it should be as soon as possible.

well.... I think I'll call the casino. There was definitely something weird. I agree with flash... not sure it was a 'big-time' drug but I only had max 4 sips (at most 1.5-2 oz of the soda) after the ‘boys’ surrounded me and I definitely didn't have any booze. I've been in casinos enough that I wouldn't be that confused with the 'newness' and I'm old enough (read that experienced) to know something happened.

Fuggedaboudit !

Not to put too fine a point on this, has anyone on this forum,
other than me, ever been a student at an accredited College of pharmacy ?

Ambien is not a barbiturate. It is a benzodiazepine.

Short-acting barbiturates exist, but are bitter-tasting and are weakly soluble in water.

There is hardly anyone so stupid that they would attempt to drug someone while on camera, as opposed to a dimly lit tavern.

There must be an explanation

She was drinking nonalcoholic because of bladder issues. Would a small dose because of slow intake of any of the likely suspect drugs have a strong enough effect for her to stop in time before ingesting enough to wear off that quickly? She threw away some of a drink.

I really dont know much about this but clearly something happened. Maybe she got sick, blood sugar,or other natural imbalance in the body. Or maybe she was drugged. Clearly something temporarily messed with her natural body chemistry.

as an update.... I called the casino. Told them I don't 'know' I was drugged, but something weird happened. Also.... I still have some residual weirdness (perhaps sick, but I don't feel otherwise ill) I have extreme jet-lag, weak arms and limbs, mild disorientation and my peripheral vision flickers on-and-off. I think I am very lucky to be home safe, un-rolled and a winner to boot. My natural paranoia paid off. I changed drinks immediately, made sure to walk to the lot with another group engaging in menial banter, locked the doors as soon as I was in the car. Thank god for my Magellan, but it was a highway-to-highway drive home. I guess this is just bet’er beware.

Better safe than sorry

I got a throat infection on a trip one time. My only symptom I noticed was I couldnt lift my arms even a little bit. Id get to a doctor. The vision symptoms could indicate a serious problem in your eye.

I had similar peripheral vision issues and my GP thought it was a detached retina and sent me to a specialist. He was concerned enough to bump me up to his first patient in the morning. It turned out to be a uveal melanoma not a detached retina. My only symptom was loss of peripheral vision but when they asked if I was experiencing other specific symptoms, I realized I had been even though I hadnt noticed them.

If I hadnt gotten my cancer treated Id probably be dead today. It turned out to be an extremely aggressive form of cancer. Untreated I would have been very lucky to be alive 2 years later. I think Im heading for 4 years out and everything is still in check.

I doubt you have what I have but the symptoms indicated many very bad possibilities. If you are fair skinned with eyes that arent brown and fair well in the sun you are in the risk group for this very discriminatory and extremely rare form of cancer.

Its hard to imagine that your general body symptoms have an eye specific cause but its better to be safe than sorry.

NEVER ignore visual difficulties; especially odd symptoms; e.g. an early sign of M.S. (multiple sclerosis) is an intermittent loss of color vision, possibly lasting just a matter of seconds.

I know one poster here who has lost the vision in one eye from the radiation treatment that saved his life from a melanoma within his eye.

I myself, have a "nevus" in one eye, that I have an ophthalmologist monitoring, as it could develop into a fatal melanoma.

A final footnote: The chances of some jerk getting his hands on ketamine or propofol is probably
similar to the chances of the "Rapture" occurring on May21st as some Fundamentalists are asserting.
