....without being obvious (in the US). Basic strategy is so different I feel like I stand out in blackjack already just for knowing how to play A7 and when to surreneder. Just playing correct basic strat at sp21 would make me suspicious , right?

It CAN be beaten -
-- and the plays are LESS obvious to casino personnel since none of them know correct SP21 BS. zg

Ps - I happened to be at the BJINFO twitter page when I saw your post, look >>

Span21 has been my preferred game for a couple of years now.

However, the rules, no. of decks, and penetration, differs depending on where you are playing.

On several occasions I have had floor persons suggest to players that they go to wizardofodds.com

for the correct basic strategy; as well as settle arguments among players with the correct B.S. play.

Incidentally, getting heat at the game is not as rare as it once was. I have been backed-off several times

even though my stakes were low and spread was moderate.

What geographic area are you referring to ?

I suspect that you had been backed off the bj tables at those properties or related properties and are playing with a players card? Years ago they believed that sp21/pontoon was unbeatable and routinely allowed backed off bj players to try their skills...no longer. Most casinos guard sp21 as well as they guard bj.

Not if everyone keeps discussing it.
i endorse this concern for all posts here. but this is about as vague as a post could get while still possibly having any value. if you suggetsing no posting outside of the voodoo thread or thoroughly covered topics i dont blame you, im just surprised you picked this thread to make your stand.

Sometimes things should be discussed in public. Other times, things may be sensitive, and can be discussed in private.

For example, right now I know of a couple places with greater than 90% pen. I'm sure as hell not posting that info, but if someone asked me privately, I would probably volunteer the info.

You're kidding me, right? Kat's book is on amazon for Christ's sake.
So is Exhibit's. That doesn't mean we need to discuss lurid details in public. Suffice it to say, talk to Automatic Monkey or Flash or me or anyone else that volunteers, but let's use PM's.

Also, Kat's book isn't, how shall we say this, the best information available.

After reading Kat's book, I did notice the local casino has a few S17 tables. However, the table limit is $100 a hand. Mind you this is a Canadian casino, but the pen was 87 to 90%. Is it worthwhile?

You know how many books are out there about beating craps and slots that are complete BS? Tons. Spanish is just a "Novelty" game to most casinos and it's good to keep it that way.

No. Even with the good pen, a $100 limit in Spanish 21 is not worth your time.

Jnrwilliam, the rules are draw up to 4 times, including aces. 678/777 bonus. Double down any time, no re-dd. 8 decks but with almost > 80% pen. (one deck out).

Thanks for the info 21forme. Still working on it now. With a limited bankroll, maybe it's better to Wong in?

What's the name of the casino? I'll go investigate.

Moo321, two places actually... Seneca and Blue Heron. Alot of punters play there, they especially love the Match the Dealer bet. Expect alot of the lower tables to be filled up. I'm still learning/practising, but it's not easy to count near the end of the shoe. Maybe better to Wong in and out with limited funds??
