I'm going to be headed to Vegas next month and will be staying at the Monte Carlo. How are the low limit shoe games there? Are they 6 or 8 deck? H17 or S17? How is penetration, do they offer surrender? etc...

Looked 3 weeks ago. All 8 deckers, pen was terrible, about 70%. H17, RSA, LS for the $5 and $10 tables I saw. CVBJ says $10 tables are S17, RSA, LS but that's not what I saw. Didn't bother playing. Much better pen in close proximity.

From years' experience, Monte Carlo always has one S17 table, but just one. You have to tour the entire casino to find it!

Yes, there is one S17 table on the main floor. Its near the back of the casino, outside the high limit room. Its 8d ASM, like all the other main floor tables at the MC.

On peak times (Friday/Sat/Sun after lunch and into the evening), this table will be $25. At other times, I'd suspect it would drop to $15.

The high limit room is all S17 6d hand shuffled, but it starts at $100 (it might go down to less during offpeak times, but I doubt it would be often... it might have $50 tables during weekday mornings but I don't know).

You can apparently get S17 6 deck hand shuffled games for $15 in the mornings at the MGM Grand, so you might want to check there as well.

Personally, I found the dealers at the MC a bit on the rude side.

Every morning I was in MC there was no one playing in the HL room and 2 PC's. Not my idea of a good ratio.

Actually found $5 and $10 s17, ls, rsa 6 deck at MGM on weekday mornings. Easy to wong.

Most of them are temporary workers from Eastern Europe. They can stay 6 months between extensions. That is the edge why MC can afford better rules than Harrah's: no pensions!
