Any suggestions on the better shoe games in Reno?
That's an odd question. Reno is the capital of single deck and you want to know about shoe games? That's like traveling to Cheyenne looking for the best jambalaya.

That is strange, isn't it?

I've be studying so hard to perfect my shoe game, and I'm still working on it. Single deck and double deck seem like such different games to me, especially from all that I've read on this site. I'm afraid to transpose my shoe game to single/double deck... I'm not going to make a mistake like spreading 1:15 on SD or DD like I do in shoes, I hear that you get shuffled on that way. But, inside, I'd be paranoid that I'm making strategic errors left and right. I'm not even sure if Hi-Lo is good enough to take on SD/DD.

As for Reno, the Lake Tahoe and Reno areas are one of my favorite places to vacation. I'd like to plan a week of vacation out there.

Anyway, if there are any good shoe games out there, I'd love to play them.

If you were to play SD or DD using playing strategies that were designed for multiple deck games, the difference in your win rate would be almost imperceptible. As a matter of fact, you'd probably do even better, due to the fact that you'd be getting more betting opportunities, and STRONGER advantages.

You're right about the 1:15 spread however. That will have to be toned down. But strategic errors? Your Hi-Lo count will simply DESTROY the Reno games.

I'm afraid that the quality of shoe games in the Reno/Tahoe area are less than ideal since they are all H-17 for starters. My best suggestion is a deeply dealt DD game (don't look for DAS) with a 1:4 x 2 spread. This will keep you out of trouble and the DD indices won't be that much different from those of H-17 shoes.

Looks like I need to learn 1D and 2D games.
No need to mess your brain up just to play some DD. Just watch the dd 9 v. 2 and dd 11 v. A (if you're used to S-17) and you're pretty much in the clear.

I'm in Reno now and it's definitely a SD/DD town.

I've been in about 5 casinos so far and there's some variation worth looking for.

Very few 6:5 payers, even on SD - apparently it wasn't well received when they tried it.

I haven't found one shop yet that allows DAS or that stands on soft 17. Only shoe games are DAS.

Some games are double only on 10/11 for SD, 8/9/10/11 for DD, some are double any first 2 cards.

Reno games

I am probably making SD and DD harder than it needs to be. But I just haven't had the motivation to study the differences against shoes games in depth. I will soon.

So, let me ask the opposite question from my original question - where should an intermediate player like myself not go to play? (ie. where might I get heat that I can't handle, or any thing else bad.)

Please PM me rather than posting publicly if you don't feel comfortable posting here. Thanks.
