Your example only works for 1 bet. What if that 1 bet is won rather than lost... does that mean that the bettor had an edge? No. It meant he beat the odds. You can't use one example and say it gives the bettor an edge. So if we're going to make assumptions about future results lets say he loses every bet and gets a rebate on every bet. Now does he have an edge?

You don't play one single bet, but neither do you play an infinite number of bets either. With an infinite number of bets, it's just a house edge reduction.
With a single bet, it is a player advantage.

Hence, there must be a critical number of bets below which the player keeps the edge. Simple as that.

1) Looks like in the picture of the BJ table they are betting roulette chips.
Good catch.

Not like that photo's been posed for the camera or anything . On second glance, it's like one of those "spot what's wrong with this picture" games. Either that, or someone needs to seriously address their protocols for resolving player blackjacks.

Yes, they DO institute a minimum amount of action; but SOMETIMES they miscalculate the correct figure, and require too little action to keep their edge. As I've stated earlier, I personally know someone who HAS burned a casino in this way. When the casino finally figured it out, the casino manager DID get fired (and rightfully so).

I'm not saying that this IS how the man who is the subject of this thread beat these casinos, but I WILL say that it's a VERY strong possibility. I will even go so far as to say that it's a strong LIKELIHOOD. The fact that the manager of the Trop got fired over this somewhat strengthens this theory.
Actually, I think this the best reply to the 'dude makes big bank at casinos' story and the questions that followed about the rebate. Since there is so much info missing from the story, anyone who's seen the rebate in action should have an idea of how it works and how/if it can be exploited. @Sucker has taken care of that now.

Still, my insatiable curiousity demands that someone hack the various casinos servers and find out how much this guy lost on earlier trips before being shown the door. I have no skills, though, so it won't be me doing the hacking.

Best ~ L.I.A.
