Card Counting at Melbourne Crown Casino

#1
Hello fellow counters (sorry for being so lame),
I am currently looking for skilled and experienced counters (using hi-opt 1 or 2, preferably with an Ace side count) for a team effort at the Melbourne crown casino (around 4 to 5 counters, 2 or 3 to monitor the status of the shoes -and 2 to 3 "big players"). This would take place duringearly to mid december of 2009 and pending on the success of the group - many more efforts may happen.
Please reply to my email [email protected] or [email protected] if interested. Speedy replies would be greatly appreciated. Phone number: 0421736791
Thanks.

Also if anyone (anywhere in the world) is in need of an experienced counter (using hi opt 1 and ace side count) please feel free to contact me.

Good luck playing BJ at Crown with H17 8 deck games no LS and DBL only on 9,10,11 - house edge is around 0.74% on rough estimation.

If you are a university professor who can beat Crown games, I extend my honour to you but Crown BJ games heavily favour the house. Its H 17 rule has made the game a bit difficult to beat - also high stake tables (min: $ 25) will offer 3 to 2 BJ. Low stake tables offer 6 to 5 BJ or CSM or both.

Whilst part of me would LOVE to see a card counting team take Crown Casino's money from them, it simply is impossible.

At low stakes ( < $25), I think its all "Sports Blackjack" with a house edge of 2% (!!!). Possibly in midweek you get better games but I doubt that is frequent.

At $25 you can get "Crown Blackjack" where the house edge is about 0.75% (D9-11, H17, Split3, NRSA, 6D CSM).

At $50 and up to about $200, the Maple Room and Monte Carlo Room have the slightly better games like Premier Blackjack and Premium Doubling Blackjack where the game allows DA2 and is 8 decks dealt from a shoe. This gives a house edge of 0.6% approximately.

Above $200 its the Mahogany Room where you get games with S17 and 0.4% house edges (S17/DA2/NS/8D shoe).

Needless to say, these conditions are unutterably terrible and it is no exaggeration to call them the worst in the world. They are easily the worst in Australia... Star City is Sydney has 0.56% on its main floor (all CSM). Jupiters, Treasury, Reef and Jupiters Townsville (in Queensland) all have house edges of 0.55% on the main floor (again, all CSM). To get shoe games and comped drinks, you'll need to visit high limit rooms.

To my knowledge, the best BJ in Australia is at the Country Club Casino in Launceston, Tasmania. House edge there is barely above 0.5%, however I would not like to see that game be unprofitable for the casino, since I don't want a reasonably nice (by Australian standards) casino to lose money.

Honestly, I don't want to play any BJ in Australia any more. It is a racket run by monstrous monopolies in cahoots with corrupt state bureaucracies... 1950's corporatism at its worst.

As for me, I'm off to Macau at the end of the year to gamble at AUD$15.50 minimum bets at a game with a 0.10% house edge. Even if its CSM dealt, I don't care at all because at a house edge that low, it is basically an even money game. And this time, I will have an 80 unit bankroll to party with.

Give the man a cigar, he is spot on.

There are a few other side issues as well, given the need to play in "higher limit rooms" crown are very good at "getting to know you" and will have you figured out in a short space of time, may not be one day, may not be 2 days, but they will cotton on to you eventually.

There are opportunities at crown, but they require a lot of time and effort to exploit, worthwhile? maybe? depends on your goals.

Macau is a good option, and its good fun, particularly now that we have some low cost carriers flying there. (flew air asia X, and they were great).

The USA is still the place to be though :)

cheers

Monopoly is a four-letter word.

All Australian state capital cities have one casino only... which is called a dang-blasted MONOPOLY - the only show in town. A visiting American straight out of Las Vegas would find this less than funny, I would think. In the case of Packer Inc, they have The Game sewn up nicely in two state capitals, Melbourne and Perth. Following is what might be called a player perspective and description of this crude monopoly. So what do you call a corporate casino company in bed with a blunt-instrument State Government?

1 Holy crap! WTF's going on? 2 This is a called a PACKERARCHY...
3 Unholy Alliance... Corrupt and Corrupter.
4 PACKERPICPOCKS INC. 5 Unholy Crap! WTF?
6 Kerry stitchedem em up good, huh!
7 Bring two wallets! 8 What you see is what you get. Huh?

From the casino perspective:

1 OK, we may have a monopoly in Melbourne and Perth, but where else can you go in those towns to get ripped off bad in such plush surroundings, so expertly, sweetly and with so little effort?

2 We provide a very useful community asset. We employ thousands and we donate money to charities. Look in our annual report. It's in there, somewhere.

3 Without our asset, the community of close to four million would be at the mercy of lawless, immoral groups of corporate sharks, gangsters and rip-off mobsters who don't give a rat's arse about the public... Hey! Hang on! That's us I'm talking about!... Forget that one!

4 Let's face facts... the public is an idjit, but we look after them and see to it that they get exactly what they deserve.

5 The public is a stoopit cow that needs milking regularly. That's our job. We milk.

6 We have a very large payroll to meet, week in, week out. How are we to manage this without taking a few liberties here and there... nudge nudge, wink wink.

7 We are a law-abiding organization. We always abide by our laws.

8 As for being a monopoly in bed with government law-makers, how much do you think that costs? An arm and a leg, I can tell you...

9 James Packer is cut from the same cloth as his pop, Kerry. Only the scissors were sharpened.

Good luck and want to ask more about macau

Mega,

I really hope you score something big, as I think Crown is going to far to take money from our pocket. The recent news that they are introducing computerised Blackjack and some other table games.

This is horrible  I understand that casino need to earn money, but in this way, it makes no difference to rape the punters.

With a good bankroll, I think Crown can still be beaten and the proms in VIP room is much more reasonable than the floor.

A question to Ringy, where do you play in Macau? As I am going to China in December and want to know more about the casinos there.

Thanks and enjoy counting

All you poor suffering Sods in the Land of Oz

Any casino in Macau would have terrific BJ games. Stay in the Grand Waldo. 5 star at about A$100 per night.

When I was there I stayed 2 night cruising on the Star ship Aquarius. If you play perfect BS which no doubt you would you would pay A$$4 per point of play and with 25 points it entitles you to 1 night stay (1 free cabin for up to 3 pax). Terrific deal, nice dinner, fastastic night cruise of HK city and free LAS style show on board.

Of couse if you want to spend abit more money you can come to Singapore and cruise on the ship Virgo. You get an even better deal than on the Aquarius. But that is another story for another day.

Blackjack at crown

You have to be nuts to play BJ at crown or most places in Australia even with no CSM. Players that want to take on a CSM need to go away and seek counselling.

All the counters in the mahog have taken a beating for ages. Some suspect short decks are the culprit. Who knows. There are teams in there already and they are not subtle. The counters will sms the gorillas when the true count is high you can hear the yelling from the toilets.

I wouldnt play anywhere where you cant surrender or double any two cards.

The best time I have had recently was at the Hilton in Prague which has a nice small casino. You can request a private table the min was 20 euro and max 500 euro. I asked for higher but is wasnt possible.

All the best rules (4 decks - hand shuffled shoe) and I was playing max on two boxes for 15 hands while it was really positive and then went back to minimum at the start of the next shoe.

No heat from anybody. Clueless dealer also doubles as the manager when they put their a jacket on.

On my first few hands a higher up manager with a nice suit came to watch. I put minimum bets out and spilts tens, hit 14 against a 6, then stood with soft 16 against a ten. This was followed by asking the drinks girl for advice.
After this the big manager told me to have a good night , said something to the dealer in Czeck and never came back.

Later I was doubling soft 18 against 6 with a ten true count - this would normally raise eyebrows anywhere - here they just smile and pay you. They also paid me a couple of times when I had a standoff.

Buy in was 5,000 Euro and win was 18,000 Euro after 2 hours playing mostly head to head with the dealer on one box sometimes 2 boxes when it was good. You dont need a team or special zen/omega II/advanced techniques.

Just know a simple system which you can use flawlessly and have good acting skills. I was singing and acting drunk most of the time. They thought I was a drunk yobo from England?? who got lucky.

Also try Venetian in Vegas.
