Genting and Sands must be wondering if they got themselves into a very tight corner or perhaps worst in the grips of the devil. The Singapore govenment has introduced regulations to licence all junket operators and track all VIP high rollers by getting the casinos to give 1 hour notice before the high rollers can play in the casinos.
In Macau the junket operators need only be registered with the government.
And 70% of the revenue in Macau comes from the junket high rollers.
This latest regulation could spell financial disaster for the casinos.
