Stupid drunk casino story

#1
My brother and I were playing BJ. We were winning huge, me 11k, him 18k (at the time of the incedent). we left the HL area because we are relatively young and the hL area was dead. We found a $15 min bet table with locals and started betting 200-900 per hand, and we were killing, people were getting exceited, we were getting drunk, we were like rock stars for a few minutes. Well, we were making to big a commotion and security came over and asked for our ID's. I am almost 40 and showed them, and my almost 30 brother did not have his. At that moment I knew things would get ugly. Well they wanted his ID, and he said it was up in the room. He told them to wait right there and he would go get it. they would not let him take his chips, then I knew it would get worse. We were way the highest rollers in the casino and It was pissing me off that our host did not take care of stupid stuff, like telling security to leave us alone. Things were getting tense, arguing was loud, so my drunk brother in his infinate wisdom pulled a stunt he saw in a movie. He grabbed about $500 in $25 chips and threw them up in the air, figuring the crowd that was watching would swarm like in the movies and he could get away. Well, they just stood still. the security guard picked them all up and walked us to the room to see the ID. It was funny, I guess you just had to be there

That is funny, especially the part about your brother's sudden inspiration (life imitating art) that went over like a lead balloon. I suppose security was dismayed to find that he was legit, or whatever they were trying to find out. I trust you got all your chips back.

well, i don't know if this counts as i wasn't drinking. I was playing BS flat betting $10 and up just over $100. I was i wanted a nice double down .... and then i get 11 and dealers got a 6, so said 'yay!' and smacked another chip down next to my bet. And the dealer asked what i was doing. I said ' I'm doubling down dealer'
And he 'You can't do that sir' and i asked 'why" its 11' as i looked at my cards...a Queen and an Ace...

This happened to me in Dover Downs last weekend. I was dealt a ten and a two for a hard twelve. The dealer had a three up. I thought to myself, I will hit and I will get some grumble from one of the other players, but I don't care. Then, inexplicably I pushed in chips and doubled down on a hard twelve! I don't know why I did it, it just happened. naturally, I drew a nine for 21 and the dealer hit for a twenty. I only had one drink all day. Go figure! I have never dd on a hard count ever before, but I can't say that I won't in the future because I don't have a clue how it happened.

Would it ever be right to double down a blackjack? Say it was at a 6-5 single deck game and the count is high.

Even in 6-5, you would need quite a severe situation to justify throwing away a guaranteed win.

And it's debatable whether they would allow you to do it. I asked a suit once, and he said, "No."

I watched a drunk ploppy do this in Vegas, the dealer allowed it, but asked him if he was sure he wanted to do it first...moron. oh yeah, it was 3:2.

During last years SuperBowl in Laughlin, guy at my video BJ table accidently hits two tens and draws an Ace. About an hour later he does it again and draws another Ace. A few hands later, we decide to test the machine and he doubles down on the twenty- draws a queen. But the Saints won so everybody was happy.

You'd want to see a ten in the hole, or know a ten was coming to double down on a blackjack.
