The conditions in Sparks, NV

Yesterday I played 3 casinos in the Sparks area they where Rail City, Silver Club, and John Ascuaga's Nugget. In all three of the casino they all had good to reasonable rules certainably playable conditions in all 3 casinos. For some reason I did not feel as comfortable in Rail City as the rest of the casinos. The Silver Club is a casino that made we feel really comfortable and I enjoyed playing there even though I was huge loser there for the day. Losing over $500 there in under 30 minutes kind of makes an impression especially when the table max is only a $100, the minimum bet on Friday night was $3-$5 depending on the table you sit at. The rules are 1 deck double on any first two cards, no das, split aces once, every other pair up two 4 times, and a 3 to 2 payout on blackjack the rules that a smart blackjack player comes to find. With 3 players at the table she consistly dealt 3 to 4 rounds before the shuffle the game is hand shuffled. I have always found that when the dealers have to hand shuffle the deck they typically give better penetration than ones that get to use shufflers and two sets of cards. At the Silver Club I thought that both the Pit bosses and the dealers where very friendly and that is not something that can be taken lightly when deciceding where to play.
Last but not least is the place right next door to the Silver Club, John Ascuagua's Nugget if you are a realitively big player $25 minimum vs $5 minimum you get better rules at the Nugget rules for 1 deck on $5 minimum are average Reno-Tahoe rules double down on 10-11 only no das, split pairs, 3 to 2 payout, the rules for the $25 minimum table for one deck are double down any first two cards, no das, split aces once, and other pairs to make 4 hands, and a 3 to 2 payout on blackjack. If you want to play for big money the Nugget is the best place to play they have a $2,000 max bet on the $25 tables they also carry $500 and $1,000 chips so they are equiped to handle the big action. If you win $500-$1,000 they probably have an easier time explaining the lose than if you play in a place that has $100 chips as it's top chip. The Pen is reasonable at the nugget. If you play a $25 min. table I suggest that you bring a min. of $2,000 with you preferably I would like to see you bring a minimum of $5,000 with you. I learned the hard way that bringing $500-$600 with you just won't cut it at these table wile it might at a $5 minium table. I realize that a $25 minimum table is out of a lot people's range of affordable gambling and if you can't afford to lose $2,000 in a session don't play.

At the Nugget!

At the Nugget right on the front door it is the only casino that I know of that has a sign that says winner's welcome. So if they kick you out for card counting say that right on your front door it says that winners are welcome. If you kick me out because I'm actually the 1 player out of a 100 who is good enough to beat the game the sign would be false advertising so you could sue the nugget for false advertising. Now I don't recomend that you sue the Nugget because John Ascuagua is very well financed and will probably be able to crush you in a law suit.

lol

But I went to the diamonds cuz you said they had 2$ tables and it was ghetto but it was a good game minus the 10/11 only. the dealer always dealed to the last 15 cards and didnt care what you bet I was able to play a 1:12 spread, . The pit boss lady cared more about what she wanted for lunch than the game. She only looked over once . Very good pen. And the dealer looks at the card for a BJ which is good if you can get a tell on the dealer.

What about the amigo ? I hear they offer Surrender and a DOA . Split up to 4 aces once, 3 to 2 . You hit that place up ? it have good pen ?

They're talking about Sparks which is a small town next to Reno. It's still a Western environment complete with cowboys, Indians and cattle ranches, the most famous being The Mustang Ranch (they had prime cattle back when). Diamond's is indeed a honky tonk where they used to serve beer in cans and peanuts on the floor. Not exactly the Bellagio, but the crew is definitely down home. BTW, I wouldn't walk in there without an escort if I were you since they still carry there froggin' gigs with them. Them folks don't cotton rightly to you green critters except on the dinner table.

The Silver Club

I have been at the silver club during happy hour and they had a $2 table. Yes the silver club is a Mom and Pop operation with only a couple of tables in the entire pit. It is right next to the nugget and you can walk from one casino to the next.

The Alamo is a funny place. I fully emptied out a tray there a year ago, then ran like hell.

Rail City has my photo up on the wall in their surveillance room, apparently. Silver Club I've gotten away with a bit in, that's a Holder casino I think, and they're not much into heat.

Ascuaga's Nugget is a nice place to play especially at the green chip level, and another decent Sparks store is the Western Village.
