Playing in A.C.

#1
Hey guys, didn't mean to make you "suspicious or paranoid", about my motives... I have none.... I was just responding to the quest for 6 deck tables and better player rules in A.C. ( yes I am very partial to Ballys/ Claridge, they have always treated me great). The main reason I mentioned the high stakes room at the claridge is...that it is 6 deck and the rules are different than they are on the casino floor, where you will have 8 decks and you can't split/double down up to 4 hands. I think everone knows this will make a large difference in having an edge over the casino.
I do agree with you Systemtrader that going to a $50 table with $2000 is not enough money to survive if you have a bad streak. The only reason I used that amount of money was didn't was to "slight" any of the readers of this site. I was assuming( I know, wrong thing to do) that someone looking for a $5 dollar table isn't going to have the ability to walk in with $5000 to play with.
As for whether you agree with my playing style or not...it doesn't matter.
I think the main difference is you are quoting statistics from 1000s of hands of play, and in the long run all of the math is perfect. So if your planning on sitting down at a blackjack table for 50 hours and playing 1000s of hands of cards in a row, everything you read off of your charts and stats will work out just fine. And once your done you will have won your exact percentage of 7.84325 % (whatever?) of your money.
I sorry that would bore the living crap out of me.
The main difference in our methods is......when I go to play I usually stay for 3 days. In the 3 days I'm there I will probally only "play" for about a total of 3 to 4 hours of blackjack. I am only there for the "one shoe" with my name on it. After that I'm done...I drink , eat, see a show, walk around the boardwalk.
I play to take advantage of the short term streaks in blackjack. That is why I increase my bets on a continious basis when I hit a streak. I take it as far as I can then go back to my base bet. Then I wait for the next streak. When the streak gets long enough and I've gotten a couple of grand ahead... I stop playing. ( of course my last bet is always my biggest loss of the trip, but hey, it has to happen)
My method works very well and I usually win or break even. Yes, I have lost before and lost "thousands at a time"...but, over the years I have probally left a "winner" 2 times as often as "loser"
I'm not a quote " high roller" by any means but I usually win between $1500 to $3000 dollars.
I know the way I play is impossible to cram into a computer program, but then again.... "I'm not playing a computer". I playing in a Real casino with Real cards and Real money.
And in the "Real" world of casino gambling streaks (good and bad) happen "all" the time, every day, every hour.
NOW, I AM A FIRM BELIVER IN PUTTING MY MONEY WHERE MY MOUTH IS....
I will be staying at Bally's casino on September 17th, 18th and 19th 2005.
If you would like to join me there, I will be playing in the high stakes room at the Claridge. I'm sure some of you would like to come there and see how my style of play dosen't work, right?
But all teasing aside, I realize your systems and methods all work on paper and computers and in the Real world , (if you have enough paticence....)
I go to a casino to have "fun" not spend endless hours counting cards. I make the most mathamatically correct decisions in my card play and bet my own way, and it works for me.
I'm a "Gambler", and have been for most of my life. I go to casinos to get that "Adrenaline High", there's nothing else like it. When I'm there I party hard , play hard , any enjoy myself, and the casino pays for everything. What else could a gambler want out of life....?

..P.S. I really am going to be there in Sept. If anyone would like to come down to party...I'll cover all the food and drinks.(Bally's has a great bar called the Blue Martini and a few very fine Restaurants)

See you at the tables......

Thanks for the further explanation of your methods Rocketman. Now I understand where you are coming from. Your method is not for me but as long as it works for you and you're having fun that is all that matters. I guess it was the way you worded the other post that caused me to get defensive. The great thing about this message board is that everyone keeps things pretty civil even when we disagree.

Has anyone been to the Taj lately? It has been a few years for me, but I always played the 6 deck there. They usually had good pen, but I was just playing BS. The $5 tables were getting scarce, although moving up to at least $10 kept some of the more annoying people away, so I started to do that for awhile. Have not been there in awhile, so I was just curious where the good $10 games are these days, if any.
