Bad casino management is universal. AC is not going anywhere, much less will it sink. People's penchant for gambling is being whetted to fever pitch by the surrounding states. Many surrounding state locals will see AC as the longed for pilgrimage to Mecca -- the Holy Land -- Vatican City. It has more to offer in ploppies' eyes than local venues do, and Las Vegas, even more so. Much more likely, some casinos outside of AC, LV and Reno, will find themselves in bankruptcy.
The larger gambling towns are examples of the burning log effect -- that is, if you put a number of logs together on the fire they will burn all the more brightly as they feed off each other. Just so, casinos in the larger gambling towns cast a larger glow and attraction to gamblers everywhere. Combine that with the largest and most lavish complexes, the best food and room comps, the best entertainment, and a perfect spot for national conventions and business conferences, and you have a formula for continued success.
