Long term profit is seeing the big picture

That's up to Tarzan. I feel bad saying as much as I have. I tried to be careful not to reveal his intellectual property.
I have spoken with Tarzan and understand his reticence to share his count except in general concept. If he has a superior, albeit difficult, count, the casinos would be straining at the bit to get their hands on it. It would be pure insanity for him to put his count on a public board or to trust it to anyone he does not have full confidence in. He may be willing to answer some questions via PM or personal meeting, or maybe not. He will probably curse me for saying that much; after all, he has a life.

Rather than bother him, what I am doing is finding write-ups on DH Mitchell's system, DHM (aka DHME), which forms the basis and launching point for Tarzan's system. I hope to learn enough to at least be able to communicate intelligently with Tarzan on the way he proceeded beyond DHM. I have some materials on order, but have not received anything yet. I'm hoping the reason is not that they are back-ordered, since there materials have been out of print for many years.

As lazy as I am, believe me, if there is a way to adapt some of Mitchell's concepts to an easier method I will find it. If it turns out the resultant count is difficult to use I'll have to decide whether it's worth my while. Oddly, I am not profit motivated in being a recreational counter. I don't want to lose money, but I don't care if I break even, so long as I have a good time. I guess you can count the free rooms, shows, meals and dollar comps, etc. as profit, which is also part of the total picture I enjoy.

What might motivate me more is the challenge of it all. Sometimes finding a solution to a problem is reward enough to overcome laziness; if work is enjoyable, is it work? lol A more successful, yet more risk averse count, would be quite an accomplishment and a challenge possibly worth the effort aside from any pecuniary gain. One thing for sure, I'll need help on the math, but I'm getting way ahead of myself, since I haven't even received the materials yet.
