Many casinos will bar you during the game, even in front of other customers especially in Vegas. I suppose there are some casinos which will do it discretely and wait for you to leave the table but if you are going to put in a marathon session I'm sure they will change their minds.

The "tap"

Ever here of the "tap". It is called the tap because they tap your shoulder while you are playing to tell you they are backing you off or barring you.

All my backoffs have occurred during play although neither involved a "tap".

Just a, "Sir, can I have a word with you?".
how many hours on average u have played in each casino before being barred?

the sign of a smart casino. too afraid to be involved in a lawsuit from physical altercation. Or maybe it's because APs are also big fans of the WWF, in which the tap refers to surrendering and giving up when some has you in a chicken wing?

My favorite wrestler was Macho Man Randy Savage.

Yes, it is a good point, that's how a smart casino would handle it. If I were to ever get backed off, I would almost welcome them dragging along some low IQ, low impulse control high school drop out security guards. Couple of smart alecky remarks to get under their skin, like some comment about their weight, ethnicity, appearance, station in life: -> physical altercation -> lawsuit -> +EV. I'm great at getting under peoples skins :)

Speaking of chicken wing, always liked George "The Animal" Steele.

Low was 24 minutes, three parlays leading to a BJ.
High was 20 hours over about 15 sessions.

PS - Neither had me winning a whole hell of a lot either.

Yep my associates had some experiances like this a several years ago! Not a comfortable situation at all! They definitely happen during the game!

I was once backed off in the middle of the hand. It was a handheld game and the dealer had already shipped my first card when the suit told her to deal me out. I picked up the card and it was a 7, so I just threw it back at her and picked up my chips and left. If it were a ten or ace, I would have tried to play out the hand as is required by law. Even though I free rolled him, the suit was just happy to see me leave.

Another time I was backed off before I could even buy in. This was at a place where I had never played before. Flyer obv.

Awesome. So awesome.

But I once walked up to a table, placed my money down, and the pit walks up and says "Give him his money back. If you're barred at XXX, it means you can't play here."

The 24 minute one was Vegas, and no, it wasn't the EC.

I have several casinos that have allowed me to play for far longer than 20 hours without backing me off.

As for you, that's a handsome EV you got going there. Keep it up (he says with a hint of sarcasm and disbelief).

Yes I've had both kinds of backoffs. I was backed off (aggressively) in the middle of a hand, in a face-up SD game of all things. The security guard gloated because I lost the hand too.

I didn't mind being backed off walking in the door, because then at least I know I'm flyered, and I haven't wasted time buying in, cashing out, more photos at the cashier's cage etc.
