Any shoe games in Australia?

#1
Hi,

Does anyone know if any casino's in Australia still play shoe games?

Been to Star City which is full of CSMs!

Thinking of heading up to the Gold Coast... does anyone know if Jupiters use CSM's?

Thanks.

and this is coming from a sydneysider whos plays at star city every week.

crown has a mixture of csm and normal.

Thanks, I read online somewhere that they had been installed at Jupiters with few shoe games left, and that was a couple of months ago. How do you go playing at Star City weekly?

about what you would expect.. big ups and downs that even out over time with adjustment for luck. last year 2006 as a year i won about 4000. this year i have allready been up as much as 3500 . now that amount is probably closer to 1000. i dont think my results prove anything. im just playing BS with house edge of 0.64%. so i know im playing a losing game. i havent been going every week lately and the reason:

watching this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZF5Dw384vk

because it was the only thing that could make me see, if thats what a 1% edge can do for the player.... what will a 0.64% house edge do to you over 10,20,30 years, life time... i just play to kill time and for the "fun" of it. although i do use correct BS which is all you can do against CSM if u decided to play.

the perhaps better option is to save up a big bank roll.. and try your 'counting' skills at somewhere like crown a few weekends per year. however i doubt even that would prove much. as the video will explain.

Jupiters does have shoes, but only from about 9pm at night till late. if you are green chipping they will probably let you go as long as you want. I have often kept playing well into 5am 6am. Jupiters seem to be clueless about card counting, are mainly looking for cheats.

Reef Sofitel Casino in Cairns has mainly 6 deck shoe games...4 1/2 deck penetration.

Minimum on most on the regular casino floor is $20. One $50 minimum table.

Shoe games at Jupiters

I was at Jupiters on the weekend.

Apart from being one of the tasteless casinos I have ever visited it was ok for counting. I would say my local Coles supermarket has classier fittings.

I asked the supervisor about the shoe games and he said there were installed at tables where the CSM has broken down. Aparently they break down alot.

I saw about 4 shoes games in one area and played for while at a 15 min table (way below my usual)

It was ok with 6 decks and the dealer gave at least 80% pen.

trouble was evertime it went mildly positive you had hooligans coming into the game and eating up all the cards.

You have to put up with drunken boorish morons chanting all sorts of songs and their play was ridiculous. Who stands on soft 3?

If you can stomach sitting at one of these tables you can do ok.
No double any two cards here though.

Cheers

Shoe games at Treasury and Jupiters

Played at the Brisbane and Gold coast casinos.

You can find shoe games on the main floor 15 min 500 max

If you go into the poker room at Treasury there is a BJ table which is dealt from a shoe. I was the only player there most of the time.

No heat, no interest from pit crew. They seemed to be asleep.

At Jupiters they have the same thing 15 min and 500 max shoe games on the main floor. I asked why and the official reponse was the shuffling machines are breaking down all the time and in this instance that revert back to old style shoe games. The casino has nothing to worry about because the ploppies here are some of the worst I have seen in the world. Some are not even sober enough to stay on their seat without assistance.

Entry to Club Conrads is easy enough. You just have to flash your Mahogany room/Sky City whatever VIP card and your in. No minimum front money was asked of me.

The VIP room at Conrads has been refurbished since I was last there years ago. Nice seats, even a grand piano.

The dealer was very friendly, he even offered to deal slower when asked. (I told him I wasn't good with numbers)

The shoe has a black top cover and when the dealer took out the remaing cards at the end of the shoe I was surprised to see less than a deck in his hand. Pen was consistently 85-90 percent.

For those who have been whingeing about CSM's here's your chance.

No Double any two cards, no surrender.

Sadly jupiters have phased out all shoes, they only have CSMs.

The only exception is if you can get into the high roller area, where I believe the minimum is $100. All the games are always 6 deck.

On the floor there are $50/$25/$10/$5 minimums. The $5 minimums only open from 2pm on sat/sun and move to $10 at 7pm.

There is no point in going to jupiters at all anymore. The treasury will be the same way soon as well. I am about to visit syd/melb/canberra/adelaide and will check out what there is around.

Sorry for being naive....

But when does Treasury offer their shoe games on the main floor? I only started looking at the place recently, and all the playing tables are CSM only. There are a few tables without CSM, but I've always found them to be empty. Are they only employed during peak time?

Shoe games at Treasury

Both Treasury and Jupiter’s have shoe games (6 deck) in their premium rooms. At Treasury there are a couple of $50 tables. You will probably need $5k deposit into your account to get a card but worth it.

The treasury do have $10 shoe games. They are tucked away in a room on the south west corner. I don't know why they are hidden away like this, but they attract all the superstitious poppies. I was able to wong all night with no problem.
