On irony

Of course some people fear buying your software and then being outed at some time in the future, I have heard that from many players, just a healthy bit of paranoia.
Good humor nearly always includes irony. Yes, there are people that are afraid that I will sell their names (as if I keep them or casinos care). I have not ever done this in 17 years of creating BJ software. Actually, I've never been asked by anyone on the dark side for any list as the usefulness is zero. In fact, I have never even sent mass e-mails to customers as I keep no such list. I do keep a small list for e-mail updates which is completely voluntary and has nothing to do with purchase. Anyone can sign up. Most of this paranoia comes from the site that we are talking about and their lie that I sell names.

Here is the irony. In my decades in the BJ AP field, only one person that I know of has ever sold his name list. And, that would be Arnold. In fact, he sold it twice: to Viktor and to Kurt.

Well, that being the case you have made my point about a healthy dose of Paranoia being acceptable.

As to the BJ Bash, I always make it a point to wipe out all pm's of those who attend so that there is no record of real names etc. In fact I make a point of not knowing last names, just first and usually just posting handles,,I could not find an attendee except through this site if my life depended on it.

I think it would be wise of Arnold to defend himself in light of these charges, basically that he has turned into a "sleazebag" of sorts. Not that I know him personnaly,,except that in the film shown of him here by Z-Man he looks and acts just as if he were Randy, "Macho Man" Savage.

CP, don't get me wrong. These are events, not charges. Arnold has never had much to do with BJFO or what has been done in his name since its inception. Many of the posts, and e-mails, sent under his name were not sent by him.

What a coincidence, I look and act like George "The Animal" Steele.

Snyder is not a 'sleazebag', he is the Bishop of the First Church of Blackjack. zg

A classic performance by the Bishop of BJ.

Bishop Arnold Snyder of the First Church of Blackjack encourages
card counters "to give greed a chance." Filmed, 23 years ago at Bally's
in Reno at the Annual UNLV Gambling Conference, name eludes me. zg

Off with their heads!

I don't think a person could get away with slander or libel here for the most part. If you post something that pushes the envelope much like ZG and his humor it will surely draw the moderater's ax. I have at times posted things that could be construed as the envelope but I wasn't banned the thread evaporated into thin air.:bomb:

While I don't ALWAYS agree with ZG (and I never hesitate to respectfully tell him so), his posts are ALWAYS intellectually stimulating (and sometimes CONVINCING). IMO, many of his posts do cross the line; but at least for at least SOME of his other posts; I really am having a hard time understanding what's wrong with them.

So we can conclude that anything you post is inappropriate here.
This statement was made as a response to ZG, and seems to me to be a rather troublesome statement. It appears that maybe there IS some sort of a double standard when it comes to ZG.

IMO, if there is a double standard, zg is given more leeway than most. And perhaps that's OK. But while I find many of zg's posts entertaining, going out of his way to invite a scammer into the site was simply anti-productive. Why not invite John Patrick and the vast number of other people that prey on gambling addicts?

Walter isn't a scammer, he's a crackpot author progressionist. Walter specifically requested feedback, but at a site where he was assured of none. The Walter thread was entirely appropriate for the Voodoo forum. The best part was when I asked him what BR is required with his system and he said 120u.

Unlike many progressionists, E. Clifton Davis, Ronald Dahl, David Popik, Morton Jacobs, etc., Walter advocates strict adherence to basic strategy, though, so he can't be all bad!

Notwithstanding, the Walter thread is one of the 'violations' indicated by BJINFO, to which I replied "WTF?"
Other than management and QFIT is there anyone else who feels that the Walter thread did not belong in our Voodoo forum? zg

Vodoo forum is about Vodoo play, so Walter belonged there, IMHO.

Otherwise this Vodoo page should be removed. Banning you for that was Bizarre.

As far as perfect basic strategy positive progression players,,,I have seen them win big on many occasions,,actually clean out the tray a few times on HL tables.

Now if you had threatened to "Bitch Slapp" someone, thats another story.....

More than just that, huh?

Zeng, you have 7163 posts here in about six years. (Congratulations.) How come it took the mods so long to wake up what a trouble-making, old post-bumping threat to the smooth running of this site here you now obviously represent? Did you suddenly change your modus operandi very recently? Have you suddenly lost your marbles and become a christian or something equally diabolical?

"To be fair there was more than just that."
Hmmm. Maybe you could fill us in, over on the Zen Dead Zone?

At great personal risk, I put this gang message from the NYSE here, with the accurate interpretation for the sign. They can get away with it over there. I'd suggest you might be shown even more leeway, considering your contribution over such a long period.

Thank you Brother Katweez, but after that post you and I won't even have the Zzone left to go to!
But I truly do thank you!

And with that I want to say, to all, that I obviously DO enjoy playing in this BJINFO fine establishment, so I am going to make an effort to be more mindful of certain civilized behavior that management likes to see in its members, so they don't pull the welcome mat on moi permanently.

One PM urged me to "...please don't get yourself permanently barred." And so thanks to all sides. Happy Holidays to all! I'm going to review the rules (for the first time) and get up on this mishegoss of thread bumping and smooth operations disruption and be a better citizen overall and refrain from banned topic discussion and so forth.

Merry Xmass to Ken, Sonny, and Dr. Stork, I love you guys! I would hate to have to inflict myself on some other mods, just wouldn't be the same.

Sincerely ZG

Ps - Mods, lock thread please.
