Guys, guys, im so stoked, my plane leaves tomorrow at 230, and ill be in vegas sometime after that. Iv been playing In AC, mohegan sun, foxwoods for the last 5 years and Iv finally wone enough cash to finance a trip to vegas with a sizable "Brick" of benjies.

I am under 25, I will have no rental car, my only plan of attack is using the help of forum members for guidance, and living off comp hotel rooms as best I can. I have no rental car, and no hotels as of now, but im sure theres a promotion somehwere for day one where i can open a card and get a free hotel.

Im really relliing on you guys for help here,m please post ANYTHING you know that I may find of use, I am looking for empty 4-6deck 25 min tables with good conditions, I also have no idea how to get from the airport to the city other than a taxi, but i heard about a train of some kind.

I will be looking for good places to eat, and cheap hotels as a backup plan in case i cant get comped.

I have always kept the website up to date on the atlantic city scene, now im looking for help from you all out there in vegas, cause im comin beat the crap out of every casino in town....that i can manage to hit in 10 days while I am there.:cool2:

Unforetunately there is no train from the airport to either the strip or downtown. There is a monorail that runs along a 4 mile portion of the strip but it does not connect to the airport, perhaps thats what you were thinking of. There are 2 public transit routes that run fom the airport to downtown area, routes 108 and 109.

I am not aware of any promotion where you get a free room just for signing up for a plyers card, and if there was such a promotion, it probably wouldn't apply to a saturday night. However, Decemeber is the slowest month in LV and many casinos are practically giving away rooms sunday-thursday so you should have no problem copping free rooms those nights at your level.

There are many decent $25 games. Get a copy of CBJN, either at the store (4855 Nevso drive) or it can be delivered electronically to your computer. Well worth the $13-$16 investment.

Vegas still seems like paradise to those heading west for the first time after playing exclusively east coast (especially AC) games. Good luck and have fun.

Ferret - Having seen your style of play in action, I suggest you keep your sessions short. IMO, LV casinos will be less tolerant of your antics than AC. Best place for you is MGM - a big casino with several pits spread around.

Failure to plan is planning to fail.
You didn't think to come on here a week or two ago for this advice?
I was thinking this too, Mr Shadroch. I would have recommended getting a copy of ACG. I have recently become a fan of Matchplay coupons and all the free play signup bonuses. Last month I ran around the strip and downtown helping a friend who was visiting for the first, play match plays and signup bonuses. He benefited a couple hundred dollars in just a few days and we didn't even hit many 'outlying' locations. It was actully kind of fun, and great value to a low limit player. I suspect a green chip player or above can make better use of his time EV wise. I guess ferrot could still pick up a copy of ACG at the vegas book store, if he was interested.

So you are going to Vegas with no room, not knowing where to stay, and you hope you'll get comped? I don't know of any casinos that give you a comped room for signing up for a players card.
You can take a shuttle to any casino from the airport for about $8.00 one way. go to Orleans, it's 1 mile off strip, but the rooms are about $40.00 - $50.00 for the weekend, and the buffets is about $10.00. They have a free shuttle to the strip. Imperial Palace is also cheap, as well as the Tropicana. You would be better off to plan ahead next time, you will still get comped if you meet the qualifications, if not, you at least have somewhere to stay. You always get better deals if you plan ahead.

Thanks 21, that is something I'm looking for, big casinos with lots of pits similar to foxwoods.

Ill stop and scope out the double deckers but I don't like them too much as they tend to conflict my playing style.

Thanks for the room tip.
Don't worry, I have no plan cause I bought tix yesterday to squeeze it in before xmass and take advantage of the slow time of the year before xmass where I'm bound to get free rooms easier..

What's the ACB? Is that address the addres of the vegas book store where they sell the blackjack table conditions book?

Please feed me more, I am going to be in town for 10 days, I'm leaving for the airport now.

Don't stay at the Imperial Palace. Yeah it's cheap but you can get rooms just as cheap at the Luxor or other places that are way nicer.

That place is sick.

You have to make hotel reservation before you leave or you will regret. There are plenty of cheap hotels for last minute travelers. If you want a room on the spot, they will hike the price. Just reserve a room using traveling sites. Also a free room is for your next trip if you play enough. They may give you a room on the spot if you place $1000 bet every hand for hours.

I would use the hotel's actual website because it is a huge trend in travel now that hotels have "price guarantees" that promise the price on their site will be cheaper than travel sites.

It is also possible to talk to a host and say "Hey I am going to be playing this much per hand, this many hours, for this many days" and they may hook you up.

You need to learn and adapt to double deck even if it does not favor your current style. It is fast and generally has a lower house advantage. In addition, you don't have to wait ten minutes for a plus count, and you don't have to spread as much as in shoe games. You'll be surprised how easy it is to learn. The only thing to get used to is that cards are dealt face down (although you can usually see your neighbors' cards as they hold them), and truing up is in half decks (or smaller) if you use a balanced count.

PS--There are a few extra indexes you should learn at double deck. That should not take you more than minutes for the most important ones.

Jeb, you have to post 10 tims on 10 different topics to unlock the private messaging feature, its to combat spammers, once you do that, we can send emails through the "private message feature"

YEah, the pit is a bit rougher compared to AC and I still have a habit of being a bit too agressive, I don't think downtown, and black chips work well together. I'm going to stick to shoe games mostly I think from here out.
