Penetration vs. Heat

#1
If there is a store where you can spread 1-40 with no heat, would that negate sometimes the bad penetration versus a store with similar rules but better penetration but has heat?

Bad penetration = 1.5 to 2 decks cut out
Good penetration = 1 to .75 decks cut out

Heat = shuffling when you bet your max

Rules = 6D, S17, DAS

Most players will probably know what stores I am talking about.

One of the posters on this forum told me he was playing at a smaller store and got shuffled upon when he bet max, so he waited until the PB looked at him again and chugged an entire beer.

Never got pref. shuffled on again that night.

You can always raise your bet when the count goes south so they will shuffle. Then you can be effectively wonging out to a fresh shoe every time you don't like the deck composition.

Unless, of course, the dealer is counting as well. However, I've never heard of preferential shuffling on a 6D.

Heat

I didn't elaborate on the heat. PB came down and watched the table and directed the dealer to shuffle. After I left the PB walked with me and told me
'we are running a business here and need to make money".

To which you surely responded, "As am I." :cool2:

But what good is wonging out if they will also shuffle when you get to a plus count and raise your bet?

heat

Betting table max draws attention
With some wonging in/out don't need such a large spread

Many seem to ask about whether to play this casino or that game. Spreading play around is very important for longevity.

Don't bet in such a way that they shuffle

Response: "How are you going to make any money when you shuffle every other hand?"

If that doesn't work, you can 'double-down' on this strategy and chug a second beer. And a third and fourth. And after a while your blurry eyes will have you doubling down on a 13 that you thought was an 11! That will really throw them off the track!

I always depends, just remember 2 hours at a game with a SCORE of $35 is the same thing as 1 hour at a game with a SCORE of $70 If the $35 SCORE casino let you play 8 hours a day for 800 hours in a year and the $70 SCORE casino lets you play 1 hour and backs you off which casino do you think is better?

Thanks

Thanks for the different insights. I don't like heat, so I don't go there anymore. I'd rather go where they don't care if you are an AP. For me heat just adds to another dimension of AP, in my opinion if I don't have to deal with it I won't.

By the way, after the PB ordered the shuffle on me. I stuck around for the first hand of the new shoe and bet table max just to prove a point (not a good move). Got dealt an 11 with a dealer 5 up. I doubled down and won. Probably the dumbest play I've done, just happened that it worked out in my favor. But I did get to rub it in the face of the PB, felt good. I'm stubborn and I should of just walked away, but at least I won that round.

Actually the cost was minimal (if you don't mind the variance). It may pay dividends in that the pitboss may now be unsure if you were an advantage player.
