Few questions of newbie's

#1
Hi

On the beginning forgive me my english - I still learn ;)

I would like to start "bonus hunting" but I have a few questions and I didn't find answers on the forum.
1) How much money I should deposit if for example I want't to make 50$ bonus - (I know it should be a 50$) but I mean how much to play safe and be sure that I will not bust - for example for 50$ of bonus should deposit 75$ or 100$ to feel more safe?
How you usualy do it?

2)How big WR require is worth of playing?

3)I have already started one bonus and I bust 50 pounds - what to do to avoid such a situatioins on just minimize them in future?

4) And the last question (and probably the most stupid  ;) - I didn't find in basic strategy the number 18 and 19 - it means that we always stay on this numbers right?

Thanks a lot everyone :):);)

Hi Jack, I'll try to answer your questions, but I am in no way an expert in online play. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

1) If the bonus amount is fixed, I would deposit the minimum required to get it. For example, if you need to deposit $50 to get a $50 bonus, then I would deposit $50. If you deposit $100, but still only get $50, it doesn't make sense to deposit $100 and put that extra $50 at risk.

2) WR varies by casino. Make sure that it makes sense for what your goals are. An example would be $50 bonus, but you need to wager at least $2000 to withdraw the money. If the best game you can play has a house edge of 0.5%, then you will, on average, lose $2000*0.5% = $10 before being able to withdraw. So your bonus is worth only $40. Professionals also recommend playing more, even twice the WR, so that the online casino doesn't label you a bonus abuser and refuses your withdrawal. That will reduce your expected profit even more.

3) The best thing you can do to minimize your risk of losing it all is to play perfect strategy at the game with the lowest house edge. Usually this is blackjack. You can find the strategies at http://www.wizardofodds.com . Unfortunately, there will always be a good chance of you losing it all, but you should be up in the end if you do a lot of bonus hunting. Make sure the game you chose is counted for the WR (often, blackjack is excluded).

4) Yes, you always stay on hard 18 and 19 with basic strategy.

One more thing, be careful out there. There are a lot of rogue casinos who will steal your money, especially today. Do your research and only play at credible casinos. I used to check out http://www.casinomeister.com for good places to play. This was about 4 years ago, I'm not sure if the list there is still up to date.

Hey Jack,

If you want to post our private conversations here regarding this, for others to comment on, I don't mind as long as you remove any casino names.
