Putting non-APs to use

The reason for the traditional belief that men are smarter is because in the old days more men had access to education than women. Now more college graduates are women. When my daughter was in high school, most of the top kids were girls.
I think there are real differences in the way our minds work. The celerity, aggression, and objectivity as mental skills associated with blackjack AP are statistically more common in men than women. But if an individual female has those skills those statistics don't apply to her, so she has nothing to worry about. She may be a freak, but so are male AP's. Every one of us is abnormal in some way.

The Chess vs. Go paradox- the top-rated female chess players in the world would be mediocre players among men. Despite being non-physical, there are separate competitions for men and women. The game of go is at least as demanding and many would say more so, but men and women are equal as go players. Even more astoundingly, go is played mostly by Asians where there are still a lot of traditional social barriers which restrain females. What the heck is going on here? The mental skills for chess are completely non-transferable to go, so understanding why this is would explain a lot.

The fact that some men easily lose their mind the moment they see an attractive girl is enough to say some of the men are not as smart as they think!

Sure, they are very intelligent, but on the average more so in the subjective ways than analytically. Boys and girls really are different, no shame in that. Women are good poker players and have the psychological skills to be much better than any guy. I wouldn't want to play poker against someone who can spot a bluff as easily as she can spot a fake designer label or a married guy with his ring off!

Lady AP's should understand that this is male territory they have entered, and male AP's tend to being coarse, aggressive guys who ply our trade in a vulgar environment. You don't want to be like the female reporter in the men's locker room- "OK guys, I'm in here now, so you have to cover yourselves up, and no more dirty talk!" That doesn't fly.
That description might be true for poker playing APs, but I'm not sure about the rest. In fact, the old stereotype card counter used to be a white dude with horn rimmed glasses and a countenance that suggested he had a stick up his ass. In fact, we had a name for those guys (you could use them as unwitting spotters): P-5s, for Pocket Protector and Pale Penis Persons. Not particularly coarse, though often socially inept.

Again, just stereotypes. Ken Huston didn't match any of the above, nor does Anthony Curtis.

Without at least BS and/or experience at using play signals at the table, I wouldn't put somebody in a blackjack game. Too stressful for you and them.

But if they have good acting skills, you can use them to improve your Wong act and help get a spread down. A girl can start complaining on your signal, getting you to miss as many and as few hands as you want, even mid-shoe, and you just act like the compulsive gambler who alternates between leaving the game to argue with her and going back to the game to get away from her. If these are male friends, you can use a drunk frat-boy act to get you into games without suspicion, and dare you to increase your bet.

If you want to get them physically into a game, some (most?) baccarat sidebets are beatable. The biggest problem with baccarat is you are limited to one hand, a relatively low max on the sidebets and extreme slowness due to the demographic that plays baccarat. But baccarat requires no skill- you can just get your friend(s) in the seats, tell them to bet min on the player and banker in opposition (to keep variance down on your -EV hands) and put the table max on the sidebet on your signal. At the very least, it will speed up the game and increase your win rate, and if you are supplying all the bankroll you don't have to give them an equal share, even though each seat won't have equal EV.
Could you explain which baccarat's sidebet could be beaten ? Pm if too sensitive?

Thanks
Ming

Well it goes WAY more for women than for men. Ask yourself why you see a LOT more female hookers and strippers. Women have the genetic celebrity status.

Males are way more likely to be homeless and have health problems because they don't have the support system that is the vagina. Having a vagina in western countries is a pretty good social safety net.
He speaks the unpleasant truth. I work in the mortgage business, and 99.9% of the time I see "homemaker" listed as occupation on the application (read: lives off of the labor of others) they are female. This is perfectly legit if they have kids. Many times they don't.

Helpful SO

My SO is very helpful in multiple ways:

Distracting PC.
Collecting names of PC.
Interrupting game at predetermined times to give me the excuse to stay or leave.
Adding chips to my stack if she sees I have a max bet out.
Asking for money if I need to get chips off the table.
Cashing in chips.
Watching for suits to show up that I might not see.
Watching pit activity in general for anything that could be of value.
Driving car during casino hopping. She drops me off and parks while I hit the tables. Gets the car and picks me up when ready to leave. This is a huge time saver.
She takes care of minor hotel hassles. I hate dealing with those.

This list could go on and on. She is an advantage play when I am on the road.

Thanks Bentley!

I've been looking for ways to keep my fiancee entertained/amused while I get in the hours. Very good info there especially to a beginner just starting to get their feet a little wet.
