For folk interested in the Casino at Townsville, it is very nice and scenic, overlooking Magnetic Island, very laid back and casual. Opens at 10.00 am. and closes at 03.00 am the following morning.
The Blackjack tables in the main room have $10, and $25, minimum, and all tables have CSM's only;
The High Rollers room, has one $50,and one $100, minimum, and the dealers use a shoe.
The Rules are;
Dealer hits 16, and stands on all 17's.
Only one split allowed,
Double downs on splits allowed,
Only one card allowed on splitting aces,
Double down on 9,10,11, only,
No soft double downs,
Player can stand on first 2 cards dealt if required,
Blackjack paid 3-2,
No Surrender,
On first round, player gets 2 cards, dealer gets 1,
All cards dealt face up.
6 Decks used , and are in play all the time,except for the last hand dealt, which is in the reject tray, and this is brought into play when the dealer starts the new deal;
No Smoking allowed except in allocated areas outside the main gambling rooms.
No opportunity for card counting.
Hope this helps.

card counting

Hi Koz 1984,
Sorry, I forgot, the dealers hold between 1 and 1,1/2 decks in the shoe, some dealers are more generous than others, yes you could count cards in the high rollers room,
Because I do not count, I do not know if that would be good for you or not?
