UK BJ Rules

#23
Use the basic strategy calculator on this site. Only diffs are don't split 8's against 10 or A, don't splt aces against ace and don't double down on 11 v 10.

Other than that everything else seems the same

Yeah that's right. Although there are rumours that the age to drink alcohol may be raised to 21 so things would change then I would imagine. Though it is only a rumour!

It's great, that means only 4 more years for me.. instead of 7

Are there any people who live around Manchester? Or anyone that has been to any Manchester casinos?

Any input on them would be great, thanks

I am a newbie so sorry if this is a bit naive...but anyone out there know what BJ rules they play at Napoleon's Casinos (London, Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Bradford)? Are the rules the same at all of them?

Don't know about thiose casinos but I'd imagine rules are pretty much the same everywhere..6 decks, double any cards, no surrender, split any..

well that went well this weekend..lost £400 in BJ at Riverboat!!!!

Serves me right..was doing ok...started drinking ...the rest is history..mental note..don't drink while playing ever again!!!

Was doing good just playing BS...just need to start practicing the old counting before I go there again..might invest the 90dollars in Veritas casino software..

no haven't seen any of this at the GALA casinos in glasgow anyway..

no automatic shuffler, Bj pays 2-1, no funny side bets..

yeah the old lager doesn't really help the process...funny that:grin:

Lol that's my prob too! Always played blackjack for fun before. I suppose fuzzy counting is still better than no counting. It's easy to stick to BS when you've sunk a few, maybe counting will get easier too. Only prob is keeping the emotions in check.

I am using CV to get my game up to scratch - just to develop the ability to look at cards and instantly 'see' the total to add to my count - rather than manually 'stepping through' each card think "+1, +1, -1....".

However, once proficient, there is still scope to LOOK like you are not a card-counter in a casino, by sipping a few beers along the way...! Reckon I have a way to go before I introduce the alcohol to my training. :)

Count Von Count

if you want someone to drink with you and try and distract you with my witty jokes and loud talking..I'm yer man!!!
Cheers dude. Once I get my 'hustle' on I will contact you! My kids are getting in the way of couting practice but as long as I improve then I will be hitting Yorkshire's finest BJ establishments within the year.

If you will be my wingman then I will split 50:50 - although I will deduct if your jokes are loud and your talking is drunk. ;)

I think the two hand rule has changed. If you are the only player on the table you had to take two positions; now I think you can get by with one
Thats not changed at the mint or grosvenor casinos, I usally just sit at the table and wait if i only want to play 1 hand - it annoys the hell out of the dealers cause they have to wait too - lol
