I got mugged in Paris one night. I was jumped by some guys from Algeria who we're wielding mace. It worked out ok, and les jandarmes caught them that night. So it worked out OK. Sure does change one's world view though.

I said "a bunch of small bills" - not a few.

Are you mocking my black belt in blackjack? I think Sensei Snyder would like to have a word with you. So would Billy Blanks and his aerobic back up gang.

I'm pretty sure we were trying to make light of a serious question. But yes, always be alert and careful.

I never carry my entire bankroll with me. If I need more, I go to an atm. But usually, if I lose the amount that I'm carrying with me, I'm in no mood to play anymore. If I make significant winnings, I am aware of my surroundings and proceed with caution. Is anyone watching my every move? I would believe that all Advantage players do this anyway since they are trying to gauge the “heat” in the area. So it should be natural to be cautious with a lot of money. I try not to park far away from the casino. I go with friends on these sessions, etc. If I'm forced to walk through a vulnerable area, I ready myself for anything.

Well you know I have never given this any thought before I read some of this thread.. but now you all have me spooked! I never thought about the parking lots and getting robbed, raped maybe but never robbed. Now I am scared. I have always been afraid of parking lots at night or pumping gas at night. Now I need to think about people waiting to beat my ass and take my money!! As for the guy who has trained for two years, it would probably be my luck that that would be the guy I would piss off at the table! My luck sucks, hence why I advantage play

Smith and Wesson? really? are you a federal agent? a cop? licensed to carry in all juristictions that you play? If not, as most of us aren't, even if you are lucky enough to win this "shootout", the legal expenses will far out way the advantages.
Chill KewlJ! ... It's a joke... thug confronts little ole' lady on the street and demands her money saying "give me your money lady.. I know karate." Lady reaches in her purse grabs a gun and shoots the guy saying, "well sonny, I know Smith and Wesson!"

P.S. You have to have license?

Inside a casino, including restaurants/rooms or on the Vegas Strip, I don't worry. I've walked Bellagio to Wynn with over $30k on me. Other than that, yeah I worry, and take necessary precautions. I wouldn't go outside in AC for more than a few seconds with a lot of cash. And I wouldn't venture far off the Vegas Strip.

People won't follow you on the Vegas Strip?

But eventually you will have to go home. How about on the way home (unless you have lost it all by then)?

1. I consider the Strip pretty safe. It's crowded as hell and watched very closely by cops, etc. (Largely for homeland security reasons but also for illegal activities).

2. Cab from casino to airport. Pretty simple. Also when leaving I usually do cage wire or cashier's check so don't carry much cash/chips home usually.
