Playing in Primm?

#1
I got signed up with my wife to go to Primm on a bus turnaround. I figured it would be a good opportunity to practice. I have been there before but just to throw some money at the slots, ride the roller coaster, and shop. Now that I have been learning to play seriously (counting and kelly betting) I would like to know what conditions I can expect at these casinos. Penetration, minimums, comps, heat, etc. I imagine since I am still severley underbankrolled and still learning that I won't get much heat as I don't really have the funds or confidence to play anything but nickels but anything you guys can tell me would be great.

All PRIMM BJ SUCKS. You should put forth a little effort and get similar values in Vegas or Reno at clubs with decent-to-good games. zg

wow, is that your final answer? Thanks for the advice. I guess i'll plan on having a leisurely day with the wife then. Lucky for me, my bro turns 21 in march so I'll have the opportunity to play in vegas rather than at state line.

Primm and Jean

MGM-Mirage owns all five casinos now. Each town has their own slot club.

For the uninformed Primm is a few yards inside Nevada on I-15, about forty miles from downtown Vegas. Jean is 10 miles closer.

The Primm Resort is fairly nice with the outlet shops on one end. Check out the Bonnie and Clyde exhibit.

I signed-up at the Gold Strike in Jean for a new card. Played nine hands of quarter VP ($10). Recently received a welcome to the club flyer good for a free night and a couple of buffets.

Funny, I just saw this reply in my email when I just got back from my trip to Primm. I have to say that Grifter is mostly right. The games here really suck. The diamond in the rough though, is Whiskey Petes. For red chip bettors there are only shoes but they do offer good penetration and rules. If your lucky however (as my wife and I were) you can nab a seat at the only $2 shoe game in the joint. It's a pretty good game. 75% to 85% Penetration, dealer hits soft 17, double any 2, double after split, blah blah blah. If you are on a limited bankroll, it's a nice way to test your skills (as I did). Don't expect to wong in on this game though as it was full the entire day. At $2, who really cares? I got a spot and sat there and counted until the cows came home with a 1-8 spread with no apparent heat. It was pretty great as an ego booster and a good place for me to continue building my bankroll. As for the single and double deckers. All 6:5 with $10 minimums. Too rich for me right now and I refuse to play in a 6:5 game. Other than that, not too bad a day in Primm.
