"bj bash"

The first of what is hoped to become an annual or semi-annual event has commenced this weekend. :)

A very splenid, classy and highly skilled group of AP's from this great site have convened to exchange ideas, socialize, and play against the house. The games at the"BASH" location are very fine as are the activities, food and lodging. As of this time all are experiencing a very positive outcome, and all have become honorary members of an exclusive AP Association.

The attendees have traveled from various points around the Country to attend including a young BJ Savant from China.

I am very thrilled as to how the Inagural event has unfolded as it has exceeded my expectations.

Thanks also to Sonny for helping to keep the site location and particulars secure.

Now back to the FELT.

Sorry I missed you guys at the "LOCATION"...will be there in 3 days, so I hope to get some reports on the casino options.

But most importantly, best of luck!

^ Seconded. Wishing all the best of variance to all of you (if those are your real names :eyepatch:) and hoping that one day, my skill and presence will be adequate to warrant joining and learning the secret handshake!

Best to all!

"Super fun"....YOU BET  "Secrets codes", for sure, and cryptic ;)

"Evil Mastermind", Hmmm, not in this instance. "Ocean 11 style", close to it

"Skilled enough to join", I would hope so...time will tell. Skill and attitude,
"Strength And Honor". ;) :)

Hey, not to pick on you specifically or anything - but the actuary in me just can't let go of how this forum consistently misuses the term 'variance'!

Because variance deals with the positive sum of the squared distance of a random variable's possible values from its mean, it is impossible to have a negative variance (or a variance way to the left). Instead, you landed on a point to the left of the mean.

I think a better term for what you experienced is "adverse deviation".

Sorry for the rant. I just couldn't stop myself - my entire profession is built on the concept of variance!

plenty versed in statistical terms, but fair enough: my results were XXX standard deviations to the left of the mean.

lol, jj, you are so bad. :p and i know your rassing me :), but you shoulda been there my friend & the rest of the ww warriors as well, but you're right on the chasing factor. it's my greatest demon, i gotta face that spectre down every moment i'm in the red.
it comes from being a scarity cat and hating to lose in the short term even while being well ahead over the long term.

Dont worry about being down, its just part of the territory. Not letting it, getting you emotionally rattled, is part of the skill that comes with pro BJ. Live to fight another day.

So how'd you do?

Did ya play any double deckers?

Did the WW training come in handy at all? Hope so!

Wish I could have been there! It was my wife's birthday so needless to say I couldn't sneak off for a blackjack weekend and she wasn't up for it. Hope there is another one in spring or summer and I hope you guys made 'em hurt!

Trip report...? But worried about security.

I am considering writing a trip report but am still undecided if that is a wise move. I am even worried that people may know even that i attended could very well be enough. I would say it was quite a trip though. Also a great experience for me. I will leave it up to the others as to if i should continue or not.
