Barf Boat Casino

My wife and I went on one of those Casino Boats out of Key West to have a nice meal, enjoy the ride, have a few drinks and gamble a little. It cost about 50 each which included a buffet and one drink. We both took some non drowsy sea sick pills suggested by the captain the day before. We got sold a lie, but the pills were right.
We were near the end of the line getting on the boat and went below to see the casino. The bar and food were above and when we went back to the deck, we reallized the buffet had been almost completely eaten. we must have been with all locals who knew the deal. We did get to have a couple drinks and went below when Barf Boat was far enough out. There were 2 BJ tables and enough slots to keep my wife happy. Night time was close and we were going to have a few more drinks after I won at BJ. The captain announced the balcony was closed and we might be heading back soon. We had only been gambling for 30 minutes. I was up 800 and cashed out. They paid me at the table and were pissed off. Then the Barf Boat started rocking and I went to the door to the balcony and looked out at some high waves and wind driven rain. People were in line to use the bath room to barf. Most couldn't wait. They were blowing the "free" buffet in plant holders, corners, behind machines and when the doors to the bath rooms opened there was barf on the walls, sinks and toilets. We headed up the stairs tip toeing around couples curled up with green faces. The upper deck was safe from most sick people and we did get a drink. We were one of the first off the boat and watched all the sick people that gobbled up the buffet get helped off the boat. There were no refunds or any medical help.

Why do people do such things????

Actually they are quite enjoyable. Time at sea, shore excursions in new places, relaxing by the pool, watching the ladies..... But they'd be hell if you were prone to sea sickness.

Those big cruise ships don't roll nearly as bad as what those small "casino" boats do. Get a cabin on the lower floors and some dramamine if needed and most people have no problem with them.

I go fishing 1-5 times per week. And have no desire to ever want to go on a cruise of any kind.

boat bj

I have had the experience to go on gamble boats a few times. Aside of being sick after a short time the games weren't too bad. The two reseasons I won't go on them is first after looking at the table for awhile the yawing of the boat makes you sick. The second is the heat from pit vultures. If you start to show any signs of knowing what you are doing they camp out on your table. I had fun before I started getting sick playing with their heads and making a decent profit. You don't have much time to really play and your options other than bj are marginal but hey I went on the boat for laughs and nothing more.
