Not meaning to sound harsh, but this very basic info is easily obtainable elsewhere in this site, and other AP sites and almost any blackjack book. You should spend the tiny bit of effort trying to aquire this info before posting. In addition, I never hold grammer and spelling against people as I am a horrid speller. (tend to spell as sounds) however, if you are going to quote someone, you owe it to that person to get the quote right. :p

Because counting doesn't gauruntee you will win. It is still a game with luck being a large factor in the short term. Think about it. Do casinos win every time? Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. But in the long run, they win. And thats what counting is. Just in your favor.

Because you are mathematically guaranteed to lose money in the long run if you overbet your bankroll. Look up the kelly criterion it will explain why you will lose money playing a positive game by overbetting.
