Are there any other Casino games that have good odds?

I have heard by those on this site that Blackjack "can" have favorable odds if you are an expert. WHat else can the user beat the Casino consistently? I am pretty sure slots is a big no-no. Poker? Roulette and craps(I have heard conflicting things, but to my reasoning it is a game based on Chaos Theory and nothing more), anything else?

Live poker is beatable, if you're better than the other players by enough to beat the house rake.

Video poker is beatable, if you find an appropriately favorable paytable, play nearly perfectly, and add in the cash back and promotions.

Craps: I'm becoming a believer in dice control. Many players whose opinion I respect are now playing craps profitably by learning to throw the dice in a controlled manner.

Even slots can be beaten sometimes. The concept of the 'banking' game surfaced several years ago, where some slot machines offer a bonus feature that builds value until it is won. By playing only machines that are in a favorable state, you can play slots profitably. The first machine of this type was called Piggy Bankin'. There are many more.

Roulette has been beaten by some players, by exploiting imperfect wheels that show a bias for certain numbers. There have also been several groups that developed successful computers that calculated where the ball would land based on the velocity of the ball and the wheel.

Sports betting can be beaten if you are skilled enough to detect when the spread doesn't accurately mirror the teams abilities.

Almost any card game on the casino floor has the potential to be beaten legally if the casino dealers are lax in their procedures.

There's a big world out there. Open your eyes.

Ken,

Do you have any info on how this is done? I've heard about it and the local casino we have has a craps table but I haven't gone over and tried it out just yet.

Unfortunatley...the "hi-limit" tables where I have made over six figures at is being closed!!! They actually dropped the table min down to 15$/500 from 50/1000...so every tom, dick and harry are playing there now.

Come January 1st...this Casino will be all CSM with the hi-limit room closed and filled with "electronic gaming machines". Considering that this casino only opened last Spring...

Either way...I'm looking for another advantage game to supplement my income. I'm thinking that craps could be it. Any info Ken would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

I hear Frank Scoblete has a new book out that includes a lot of photos demonstrating the technique. I haven't checked it out yet.

The current issue of Casino Player magazine has a rather extensive article with some pictures. Try google.
I have a friend who took a two day 'lesson' from a control artists. He camew away convinced it was possible but says it was more effort than he wanted to put in.
but now he can recognize someone by the way they set the dice.

Thanks fellas. I'll do some research on this.

On a related note...I wonder if one can purchase a regulation craps table so I could practice at home.

I just bought a book on Craps that tells you how to set the dice and where to stand at the table etc. It even gives you plans for making your own craps table if you want to build one. It's called "Get the Edge at Craps: How to Control the Dice" by Sharpshooter with a Forward by Frank Scoblete.

It's easy to understand and I'll know if it helps me out when I go to the casino and try it out. I used to set the dice to what one of my previous good rolls was set at. Now I'll try to set it the way it's explained in this book.

Ken: Do you remember the name of the book that you mentioned? I might want to get that one also. Thanks.

Can't remember mentioning it (probably did...CRS)....I played craps this past weekend and had a blast with it. Seems like a good game to use as a diversion when the BJ tables are not working out.

For a beginner, is the recommendation to pretty much stick with Pass Line and Odds bets? I made Place Bets on 6 and 8 and they did pay off when the shooter was on a hot roll, but it seemed the most consistant win was the simple Pass Line and Odds.

I'm still a beginner at craps; so, I'm probably not the best one to give info on this.

The very first time I played, I played the Pass Line bet and odds and then 6 and 8 until I made some money. Then after about 3-5 more wins, I started betting on the 5 then 9 then 4 and then 10 if the shooter was good. It just happened that everyone (including me) was rolling long ; so, I made a lot of money. I was even able to press some of my bets. I was told to play the Pass Line and take odds and then bet on the 6 and 8. Those are the most common numbers (other than the dreaded 7) to roll. As you make some winnings then start betting on the other numbers. The key is to increase bets with your winnings. I'm still a beginner at craps; so, I'm probably not the best one to give info on this.

I want to try to work on this dice control that I am reading about now. It's hard to keep the dice together when they're in the air. At least the table at the local casino is a $1 table from noon to 6PM; so, I can practice with less money.
