Are there any good games along the Boardwalk in AC?

Probably going to AC tomorrow. Wife wants to see a show at Ballys, so I'm thinking of staying along the Boardwalk rather than going to the Borgata. Any recommendations on where to play?

On the Boardwalk, you are better off playing Spanish 21 than the real stuff.provided, you use the correct BS,of course. At least thats what the Wizard of Odds says on his site.

Marginally so, but to the best of my knowledge, there aren't any good counting systems or strategies to beat the game. And even if there were, I don't think I'd try to learn it. It would be like trying to play both raquetball and tennis ;)

I doubt this got to you in time but you can play six deck games in the high roller rooms. I'd say in my experience Showboat and Taj Mahal offer the best penetration on those 8 deck games. Whatever you do, don't go to resorts for BJ

I decided to go back to Brogata, after all. Dropped wife and daughter off by the outlets and kept on going. Turned out to be a great day - won about 100 units!

I know there are 6D games in the high roller rooms in some of the Boardwalk places, but I didn't want to be forced to bet a higher unit than I feel comfortable with. Being a weekend, I expect they'd be at least $100 min. Maybe I'll check them out on a weekday sometime.

On the subject of pen., there were a bunch of dealers at Borgata cutting 1-1.25 decks today

Yeah I was there yesterday and that's how I made my killing. I also saw the worst play of my life there by some guy who hit a hard 17. It was sweet justice though because after he hit and busted with a 6, I doubled down and got 21 instead of 17 and the dealer would have busted had he not hit that 17 but instead got 20. I couldn't help but remark to him as I was leaving along with the rest of the table, "See what you get for being an idiot?"

The penetration was amazing as I had one dealer who must have left only 3/4 of a deck. I also got carded because this young short idiotic dealer thought I was under 21. It's been a long time since I've been 21 lol!!

I saw your other post. Congrats.

Speaking of being carded, a few weeks ago, they asked for ID from a guy and he asked if they were serious. He was 43!

BTW, I saw my first Titanium Label player's card there today. A little old lady betting green chips. I don't know what the criteria are for that one (it's kinda legendary as it's rarely seen and not even mentioned in their literature or web site) but she certainly didn't get it the way she was betting today.

I've never heard of it before. Only black and red label. I don't think I'll ever be a black label as I spend all my comps I earn on food there and the prices are ridiculous. I think dinner at the buffet was like $30 or something. I did get a little heat at one point from one of the pit bosses as he was staring at my play for gosh, a good 1/3 of a shoe. When the count went good, I decided to just keep my bet the same and that did the trick as he quickly went to tend to another table. I have to wonder if they write notes about you in their computers like if you are a counter or not because while he was watching me, he seemed to be pressing a few buttons.
Also it doesn't seem like to me that they are enforcing the no smoking ban because I saw people smoking in the bathrooms and my favorite was a woman who was smoking at the video poker machine not far from me despite a big sign that says no smoking lol.

What's wrong with Resorts? Found some good games there a couple months back...and made some nice $$$. Borgata is definitely the best though for a number of reasons.

good luck

You get a Black Label card when you hit 1000 comp points in a year. It doesn't matter how many points you spend. It's simply a cumulative total earned. I qualified for one a few months ago and there are some nice perks - cheaper prices at some of the restaurants and shops, access to the downstairs louge where they have a bar and lunch/dinner buffet for $10. They still won't give me a comped room on a Fri or Sat night, so I don't know what kind of play is necessary for that.

I believe they do keep notes in their computer. Whenever they swipe my card, I always think they are reading a novel about me, but perhaps it's just counter's paranoia, as I've never been reshuffled or flat bet. I always put on the dumb and superstitious act when the PCs are around.

Re the smoking ban, I believe they are trying to figure out what exactly to do. They have 6 months to produce a final plan and actual construction of a separate, walled-off smoking area that encompasses 25% of the gaming area.

Resorts has the worst penetration out of all the casinos I've seen for its 8 deck games. It also has the worst players in my opinion and their buffet is awful compared to others. Trump Marina probably gives Borgata a run for its money for the high rollers since it offers late surrender.

Hmm that's odd then because for me everytime I get comp points, it subtracts them when I use them for food or anything so I never really get above 100. Am I missing somethign here?? Do they have some other point balance just for this that I can track??

Yes, there are 2 separate totals. The comp points remaining for meals, store purchases, etc. (which expire 6 months from when you earn them, if you don't use them) and your cumulative total used for the card status.

Go to http://www.theborgata.com
Click on My Borgata Rewards in the upper right
Enter your card # and password
Sign in and click on Account balances - In addition to your comp dollars remaining, there's a line something to the effect "You need to earn an additional xxx Comp Dollars by <date> to earn your My Borgata Black Label status."

It's the total running amount of points you've accumulated in the last 12 months. It doesn't matter if you spend your comp dollars. You can't check your point total on a slot machine, you can either ask the pit or go to the My Bogata counter. You can also check your status online. I always use my comp dollars for food, which means I never 'paid' for the buffet, but with it only being $10 with black label, they make the free food cheaper. My personal favorite perk of the black label is the free parking.

As far as the smoking ban, I don't know if it is going to matter by this time next year. I think the casinos are waiting to see how the legislation goes in the next couple months because there is talk about a complete ban. If that happens, there will be no need for the separate rooms.

Ahhh ok thanks. Seems like I'm never going to get my black label despite having played there like 6 times on average for like 3 hours over the past 2 months for an average bet of like $50. I've got 741 more points to go lol. Funny thing was when I stopped by Taj Mahal on my trip, the pit boss says to me, you don't need these other cards. I said back to her, well you're right I wouldn't if you guys actually still had 6 deck games outside of the high roller room and actually sent me promotions in the mail. ;) (I swear they stopped sending me promotions because one time I made the mistake of going with a friend and he asked me in another language repeatedly if the count was good, so now all of the Trump properties must have a note about me) I about wanted to slap him silly for being so stupid.

What are the benefits of the Titanium card?
i don't know, maybe free transportation? it's a pain to drive to AC, being a 3-4 hr drive on the highways.. i was talking to a person from NYC a few weeks ago (at around 5am) and he was saying how he was going back to the city and i said thats going to be tough drive as you're going to hit rush hour. he said he had a limo to take him back, and he had a black card...not titanium..

It's hit and miss. Aside from WWW and a lot of Bally's tables with their H17, all the games are pretty much the same, and penetration will vary from 1.5 to 2.5 decks. Recommend aggressive backcounting.
