Argosy/Hollywood Indiana report

Argosy is now Hollywood Casino, and they opened a new "boat". I use quotes because it's easily the biggest "riverboat" I've ever been on, probably four times as big as any others I've seen. It's probably above average size for a land casino.

Anyways, they had more tables open, probably close to twenty blackjack games open. There were 4 pits open upstairs, a smaller one downstair by the poker room. Nice place to wong. LOTS of carny games open. I remember 3 card, 4 card, crazy 4, two card, texas holdem bonus and carribean stud. Only saw one pitch game on the floor. Shoes were 6d H17 DAS like they had before they opened the new boat. Average pen, 1.5 decks.

Comps seemed to be about the same as before, which, being Indiana, is below average.

i believe that was grand victoria that went H17, far as i know Hollywood and it's predecessor Argosy are/were S17.
also if you look at their website description of blackjack it's described as s17

Argosy was not long after them.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention one VERY important detail. Hollywood is now requesting ID and/or player's card at cashout. So, no ratholing. They said it was "temporary" but who knows.

I was at the Grand Vic this weekend and they had 3 6D tables S17 the 8 deck tables are all H17, One of the 6D was 5.00 min all weekend even Sat night, The other 2 were 10.00 they seemed pretty busy considering Hollywood was having there opening.

Nothing in southern Indiana. Someone may have it in Chicago.

your right moo, i think that first day i wandered into the high roller pit which was S17, the regular tables are H17.
that joint is so wide open, you end up in the high roller pit with out even being aware of it.

Any more current info on Hollywood, or the boats in the area? Any of the games changed? Still H17 outside of high roller?
Hollywood and Grand Victoria both have H17 6 decks, 1.5 cut. Belterra is S17 8 decks. Belterra has a D10 S17 NDAS double decker $10 mins, but it's sub-50% penetration and slow-as-molasses-unplayable.

Hollywood may comp you to the snack shop, Grand Vic is decent with comps, and Belterra won't give you a bag of chips for 4 hours of green chip play.

Poker room at Hollywood can get good.

Hollywood has h17 tables $10.00 min. They have 2 deck s17 tables in the High Stakes room i believe in addition to s17 $50-100.

Horseshoe has $5 BJ tables until noon when they increase to $10. it is also h17.

penetration was about the same in both about a deck and a third.

no heat in either. more generous food comps at Horseshoe.

If u play SP21, Horseshoe is much better. S17 8 deck with about a 1.5 deck pen. Hollywood is 6 deck but h17 and 2 deck pen.

no heat. very generous PBs.

Hope this helps.

Hollywood's 2d game is D10, 50% pen.

the only place worth your time is Grand Vic. Hollywood is often times too busy to find decent conditions and also the rules aren't as good.

There is a 60-70% pen DD game, DAS, DOA $25 min. h17

there are tables as low at $5, but are 8 deck, DAS DOA late surrender h17

in high rooler $25 min, 6 deck, s17, DOA, DAS, late surrender

they are better about comps than the other boats as well

but they are also a lot smaller. sometimes it's just too packed to find the conditions you need.

Belterra is probably the worst of the 3.
