Quote from Sonny:
"There is no doubt that baccarat is beatable. There are several methods that have been mathematically proven. A few of them have even been published in various sources, some for over 8 years now. The "thinking minority" (and, in my case, the "reading minority") knows this already. None of those methods involve card counting."

Sonny, if you please, could you give a hint as to these several methods and various sources? Or perhaps, list what you feel are your best two or three in your opinion...

The methods are mostly the same ones used for BJ. A few good sources would be Steve Forte's "Casino Game Protection", George Joseph's "Effects of Marked Cards in a Baccarat Game" and, or course, CAA.

OK, I'll bite. Why would anyone want to waste an hour of their life listening to this. This is nothing but ploppy voodoo with advice like,

"look at who is winning at a table and bet that way, or look at who is losing and bet the opposite."

"baccarat is a game of streaks, trends, and patterns and you shouldn't buck the trend."

"I don't bet ties unless I see ties coming. It's all about the trends."

Maybe something meaningful came out later. I couldn't stand any more than 15 minutes.

Don't forget about David Sklansky's theory to beat baccarat. If all 2's and 3's remain in equal amounts, the Player will have an huge advantage. With only 7's and 8's left in equal amounts, the Banker will have the advantage.

JSTAT,

Your citing of David Sklansky leaves me surprised and befuddled.

Surprised that I have never come across D.S. referring to Baccarat.

Befuddled because your quote ignores the 4's, 5's, and 6's

I have done some card counting in baccarat - and it has always been my understanding that the 4's are the most crucial card when it come to the E.O.R. for the Bank hand; and that the 6 is quite important to the Player hand.

Am I mistaken here ?
Indeed, it has been quite some years.

Opinion on baccarat

A quote from a former blackjack player, now a successful baccarat 'method' player:

..."What I find real interesting, is that in the movie "21" they depict card counting as something that will generate an ADVANTAGE in a short period of time, which is almost NEVER the case. You have to sit at a table sometimes for two hours before the shoe even becomes marginally favorable to a counter.

It'a all a ruse to be sure! Trust me when I say that Baccarat is absolutely the BEST Game to play in a Casino; it can't be manipulated by the dealer, it can't be influenced by other players sitting down, and it offers close to a 50/50 chance of winning, you just can't beat that!

Roulette, Craps, Pai-Gow, all those games really don't give you the EDGE like Baccarat can! That is why ALL THE "BIG MONEY" goes to play Baccarat, rich folks aren't stupid, they all know that Baccarat is the BEST vehicle to make money!"

Hi Sonny,

As i understood it that you agree that baccarat is more profitable than BJ, is this true?
