Default ctr II

Lets say you had a great session and go to the cage with your winnings of$20,000. you tell the cashier that you want it in company check rather than cash since is cumbersome to carry it to the airport. Does this trigger CTR even though you receive check instead of cash?

No, only "cash" transactions trigger a "cash" transaction report.

For the purposes of a CTR, cash is defined as currency, coin, cashier’s check, bank draft, traveler’s check, or money order. Normal checks are not cash.

It sounds like you are trying to dodge the IRS. If that is true, you do realize that the reason why don't need a CTR when you ask for a check is because it is traceable, compared to cash. The bank will hold all your transaction records and IRS just has to make a quick phone call to find out that you deposited a $20k check on such and such date.

CTRs don't really relate to taxes. They are designed to thwart money laundering.

Oh, so Truecount is posting on here because he is a money launderer. he's a beginner Mafia boss asking for advice on how to launder money on an internet blackjack forum. what a great technological society we live in. LOL!

just busting your chops. Yes, that's what they are really after, but the second benefit is that it catches tax cheats.
