I may have the opportunity to visit this place in the next couple of months. I have researched CBJN on some stores and it appears they have a few pretty decent games. The level is right with my bankroll.....unless they sweat anything green.

Does anyone have any info they would care to share? Such as what places may not be tolerent at all on bet variations and what places are?

Also a middle of the road place to stay would be good too. I don't need a 'Palazzo' but also don't want a 'Imperial Palace' either.

Any info is very much appreciatted. Either here or PM.

Thanks!

Like I have said before, if you have the opportunity do it!:)

It is an experience you will never forget.

Things, game wise, and casino wise change there fast.

I was in Deadwood over the summer - more of a sightseeing vacation that BJ trip. Stayed at Mineral Palace - nice place and the restaurant was good. If you're there for other reasons, might as well do a little scouting. Not worth the trip just for APing.

Overall, the BJ games are poor for counting. Lots of CSMs on the shoe games. All H17. Mediocre pen. $100 limit. DD games with NDAS. There are other opportunities there (and I will say no more).

Agree with 21forme

Sucks for counting, but would be a playground for someone who enjoys other AP opportunities. Would also be a good place to practice those type of plays at low stakes.

I also experienced some of the worst toke hustling ever. Some of the dealers looked like they were about to cry when I won like 700 bucks and didn't toke a dollar. I kind of enjoy those type of adversarial situations so it didn't bother me that much. Got a chuckle out of it.

Why were you surprised when you won $700 and they were upset you didn't tip a dollar? You think they like dealing for sub-minimum wage? Would it kill you to tip $2?

tipping $2 after winning $700 would have probably made the dealer even more mad :whip:

Some 40 years ago a friend of mines Grand Father, a Full Blood Cheyenne, used to wander Deadwood and Keystone dressed in full Tribal Regalia, War Bonnet etc. Tourists would always snap his picture, with or without his permission and he would always INSIST, in a very strong way on being paid for the honor, and he always got the money,,he did very well every tourist season.

Wouldn't kill me, but it would cost me two bucks.

In these situations I always feel like there is no point in tipping unless you tip them a red chip. You cash out multiple blacks and you tip a single dollar? Seems like more of a slap in the face than a tip to me.

Exactly. Also consider that I'll either never be back there again or if I am it will be so long that no one will remember me. No point whatsoever. Just chuckle and cash out.

It is one thing to not tip whatsoever.

It is something completely different to be an ass and laugh about it.

It doesn't matter what their perception is, so much as fairness. If you sit there at someone's table who's making $5-7 an hour, you should at least tip a couple bucks. It really won't kill your bankroll, unlike lots of people on here believe.

And I've heard from a few reliable surveillance sources that tipping can affect backoffs.

If I was a manager all things being equal I would be more likely to back off the guy who gets a kick out of depriving bread to underpaid wage slaves who are instrumental to said guy's trade.

Tipping

You guys have a lot to learn about when tipping buys you anything and when it is pure charity. There are a players that tip $5k-$10k per year and are considered by dealers to be dispicable stiffs. When they find out later, they wish they had all that money back. I'm sure Chaperone at one time was one of them.

Things are different in the blackjack world versus the real world. You guys should know that by now. For instance, if a cashier at a small business (and probably even a bigger one) gives me too much change I will correct them in a heartbeat. At a blackjack table myself and almost every ploppie will just stay quiet on a mispay. It's the nature of the business that creates no love lost. Most dealers are separating people from their money just like the casinos are.

Now if you read closely you will also notice that Chaperone laughs at the attempts by dealers to extract money from him. Not the fact in and of itself that he's not tipping and that difference was missed as well.

Tip

I think I tip well when called for.

One thing that sets me off however is a tip whore, I may literally get in the dealers face for that, and that is why I leave that table before I blow.:yikes:

Happy Holidays!
You could try not looking down on a working man trying to get by.
I would never not tip dealers after a sizable win at a small joint like the casinos in deadwood. At a large vegas casino however, where the dealers already make lotsa money they won't get any of mine.

I play for a living. I don't toke much, and I'm certainly not going to toke some asshole toke hustling dealer.
