Was there a counter convention in AC on Tues?

Just got back from AC. I saw more counters yesterday than I've seen in the last year.

First, at Hilton, noticed another counter at the same table as me (wonder if it was anyone here?0

Second, those 4D games at Trop are counter magnets. It didn't take Trop long to figure that out and there's so much heat on those 4 tables, they might as well be in a sauna. At this point, those games are virtually unplayable, except for a very quick hit and run.

I was at the trop right before they brought them in, I am already well know by staff on all shifts as an ap. The most they will do to you is cut the hell out of the shoes. But if you move quick enough and employee a few spotters you can do some real damage. I can move through that place in an hour and play maybe only 5 hands that are not in my favor. Once they know you just move fast and dont let the pit spot you, i find changing from nice clothes to sweat suites thrrw them off alot too.
Once i heard about those 4 deck games i knew the counters would come out of the wood work and before long the game would be ruined or gone.
You have to relize they know alot of what we know, and they knew that would lure alot of us out of hiding. Oh well time to up the camo techniques.

I suggest no one return to the Trop and play 8D games elsewhere so you don't get caught.
Who cares if you get caught they cant do anything to you in AC except take a few counter mesures. Most of the people on this site are above normal intellagince, and im sure they could all figure out simple ways to move around there futal attepmts at slowing us down. I have managed to extract money on a regualr basis from the trop while i am well know to the pit crews of every shift. I heard someone on this site say that a good AP can beet any game out there, even 6:5 or awful pen. I hope one day i can make that statement lol.
Keep hitting the tables fellas.

Four Deckers

I checked out The Trop's Four Decker pit.

The Pen' was 50% !
50% is barely marginal in a Two Decker.
75% would make this playable for me.

Later on, at another property, I talked to a floorman that I know, who used to work the Trop, and he told me flat-out that almost any bet variation at all will trigger a preferential shuffle.

Iv never actullay seen another counter untill i was playing the 4 decker last weekend i think sunday night, some guy was standing behind the same table that i was and we both cooincidentally walked away when the count went negetive, then we both cooincidentally walked to another game that was coincidentally finishing a shuffle, then he walked away when the count hit -5, but i stayed, the count recovered and i played a few hands. He was old and wearing some kind of black jacket, was it anybody here?

The penetration on the 4 deckers is not 50% it varries dramatically from 1.5-0.5 cut off most of the dealer taking a little over one ful deck off.

I dont think it matters anyways, in a midshoe entry environment, the game should still be beatable even if they did cut off 2 decks

I suspect that the casinos will take the opportunity to make this game into a Card Counter Trap
Before they lose too much money at it and discontinue it that is.

I am cynical but realistic.

That was my first thought, but so what?

This is AC. They can't ban you . Come back the next shift, tomorrow, etc. Play for as long as you can, then go elsewhere.

yea but they can still put you down as a confirmed cardcounter and tell the other casinos i thought. do they share that info with Las Vegas casinos?

Hey guys,

What are table minimums at the Trop for these 4 deck games?

Is midshoe entry really permitted? :)

What is the penetration like?

Thanks,
MJ

Four tables, all mid-shoe entry, S17. Penetration is usually 75 - 80 percent unless they suspect a counter, then it drops to 50 or less. PCs also seem aware of obvious back-counters and a few individuals esp. those who refuse players cards with large buy-ins.
